Re: Nth NSW sharks. Can they p!ss off already?

Yes mate, a bit spooked, but alright. Thanks. As a small village the Emerald people would be doing it pretty tough. Condolences to them and RIP young fella. 🙏🙏🙏 The ocean has been super active of late. Dolphins everywhere, bait balls everywhere, birds diving them, various pelagics ripping through th...

Re: Midlengths

Part of the reason Tolhurst went down that route because Harley Ingleby was breaking so many boards. Doing floaters and close out reos on 4-6’ waves on a 9’2” has that effect.

Absolutely.
Tolhurst and Goddard were at Bob Coopers back in the day.

Re: Nose concave on longboards

First longboard was a Brett Munro ‘Wategos’ model, deep rolled vee, no concaves, 9’5” bought around age 42. Surfed it a fair bit but let it go. 2nd longboard is 9’2” Ronnie Goddard which is a magic board and I still have it 10 years later. Deep nose concave to a double in the mid section to a vee in...

Re: Midlengths

Seen more than a few guys surfing well around here with a Tolhurst “Moe”model.
That thunderbolt tech is pretty $$$ though.
Must be good because they don’t pop up 2nd hand very often.

Re: Midlengths

I lucked onto one of these on The Gumtree.
Pretty rockered and deep double concaves.
Going well so far.

All DPI receivers between Hawkes Nest to Ballina have been going off. Forster especially.

Four tagged this morning so far. Plus pings.

Thought they’re supposed to be rare?

Your last paragraph brings up a question the “experts” avoid.

Re: Nth NSW sharks. Can they p!ss off already?

No not very many. My observations from the available data, Coffs was very low in receiver pings and low in tags (per drumline time in) from GWS. But, Tigers were very high compared to anywhere else, (per drumline time in). My pet theory is this has something to do with the Solitary Islands, which ma...

Re: Nth NSW sharks. Can they p!ss off already?

I was following the DPI data for a while but gave up because they updated it every blue moon.

Forster/Tuncurry was top of the pops wrt tags (per drumlines time in) and very high with receiver pings.

Whale season now starting so more of these “incidents” (DPI words not mine) are likely.
