Re: JBay.

If the calls that the commentators are making of 'I've been heading it's as good as it gets', then I agree with Carroll (think it was). Not really worth being high on the bucket list, considering Indo (which I haven't done once yet)

Re: Winter Guns... Wherefore art thou ..?

wATched the shredshow HK ep. on youtube. I haven't seen that many in the water myself, but I kinda see what you guys are getting at now. He does say you gotta surf a lot of boards to understand volume, but follows that with "finding your optimal volume..." and implies the only reason his mate's mate...

Fair enough. Cheers. Just don't get why it's so tracky, but I suppose that's in comparison to a HPS so shouldn't be too surprised.

Re: Ask Carroll

Nick my first direct question to you, although I did enjoy your 2nd response to me above :P You were talking about the centre fin in a thread elsewhere, and it was along the lines of the water displacement when going from rail to rail, heel to toe. I waffled on about my new board and some predictabl...

fINALly ( http://forum.realsurf.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=19546&start=270 ) got to run my HK-esque 6'0 (as 2 large thruster + 2 poly trailing (I know I need to experiment) in good and crappy, powerful and weak, 2-5ft beachies . I'll try to stick to the feel ... Floats, duck dives, pops up and pa...

Re: Ask Carroll

Smart enough to figure it out, not dumb enough to think it matters?

Yeah alakaboo, my main thought was they probably got the firewires for durability.

p.s. I know that was actually a smart arse comment haha

C'mon Shearer, this isn't fcuking Q&A where you just make grandiose statements and are applauded. Show us what you're talking about. I'll get the ball rolling... yes it does look fun Carroll and I wouldn't knock back the opportunity. But when they're claiming 'no food budget', but are decked out wit...

So Shearer (and Nick since the thread is Ask Carroll) what do you think about the youth who do things like the video "Bear Island"?

Should I deliver my opinion now or later?

Re: V. small wave grovellers

I ve ridden a couple of different 5" to 5"4 grovel specialist boards & mini sims. I had most fun on them in bigger, fatter open faced waves not 1-2ft slop. Sure, a 5ft board works for some but you have to be on your game, no sore back, stiff shoulder, slop pop up etc. I am 73kg & can easily paddle ...
