The machine won't defeat the purpose. You can get a crude cut down which locks in the rocker, which is the big thing. Then you can hand work everything else into place. treehouse shapes runs a nice class but good luck getting something surf able on your first go. takes about 10-20 boards without help to get a nice clean shape your first one might not look pretty but it'll surf ok. especially if you have a pro showing you want to do. ive seen some really nice looki...

i enjoy watching it about 10x better than watching hipster kids doing air spins in beach break slop, followed by cigarette smoking and rude gestures, which seems to be popular in surf clips these days.
