6'8" McCoy Mini Gun
McCoy mini-gun. 6'8" x 19 1/2" x 2 5/8". A little more refined & closer to a HPSB than his Nuggets, but still retains a little volume and is a fantastic paddler. Loves some juice. In excellent condition. Solid glass, thicker stringer, no dings. Pickup either Canberra, far Sth Coast (or Sydney this w...

Re: Woosley Vquad And Beachbeat Pacer Egg
I know some one in Sydney who's got at least one Outer Island mid length. In fact I told him about a used 8'er that he subsequently bought. I wasn't interested in it as I have my vquad but I knew he would be as we both have the same tastes in boards. Here's a link to a tastey Devon Howard egg he ha...

I would have thought you are describing perfect bonzer conditions - have you had enough of it??Hatchnam wrote:... got it specifically for those 6-8 foot groundswell days where there's water moving all over.

Re: Fiji 2014
Analogy: Someone paid for me to go to Sydney a couple weeks ago and do some filming at the RNSH. I'd never been there before. Before I went I found out what I was filming, who I was filming, what they wanted, what they expected as a deliverable. I downloaded maps of the hospital so I knew where and...

Re: Hypto Krypto voted "board of the year"
I had a 7'10" midlength that was pod shaped. Like a mccoy nugget but not as crazy thick. Almost identical nose and tail lengths, and wide point slightly behind centre. Finned as a thruster it was so much more loose than a board that long could be ( under my feet anyway ). I'm sure the wide point ba...

Hypto Krypto voted "board of the year"
I cant believe this one has gone through to the keeper without comment (especially for Hatchy....)
The Hypto Krypto has been voted 'board of the year' at the Australian Surf Industry Awards.

Best advice here is to not turn off at Batemans Bay and continue along the coast taking Brown Mtn inland. Lots of good, uncowded, pretty spots south of BBay (both surfing & otherwise).

Re: Geoff McCoy Surfboards Collectors Corner
A few quick pics of my new (to me) Rogers nugget. Its a 6'10". It has noticeably flatter rocker, slimmer rails and a bit of a finer foil than the Geoff shaped ones - but is undoubtedly a McCoy with the rolled bottom and fat arse! Overall I reckon it probably has less volume than my old 6'6" nugget. ...

Re: Ask Carroll
Nick, Whats the feeling like amongst the WQS guys when the WCT 'stars' enter their events? I'm sure outwardly they're all "its great, I can gauge myself against the best" etc, etc, but surely they must be pretty pissed at the tour guys taking the limelight & prize money? It seems a little Big Fish/L...

Again, they are not for everyobody - but it sounds like you are the ideal McCoy candidate... They paddle ridiculously well, can handle a late drop, absolutley love a sucky wave and turn so much better than you think they will when looking at them. The only requirement of yours they probably dont mee...

Re: The Real Surf Backyarderz ... who are you?
Yeah Trev, I didnt know John very well but had been around a few rallies he was at. A few friends were really close to him. Very sad & very sobering. His accident was only a few days after mine - I was feeling a bit sorry for myself, and I can tell you that gave me some good perspective that I got o...

Thanks guys, looking forward to getting a little glide going on this one - although it has been about 20 years since I last rode a single.

Re: Ask Carroll
Well Al asked me for my favourites, it's not an objective attempt to rank surfers in order of importance or achievement in the sport. I guess those five guys are in my favourite bunch because "favourite" to me is quite a personal and even intimate term. They wouldn't have been my favourites in say ...
