Re: Fiji 2012
The ASP should take over the webcasts and get the sponsors to contribute a fee per event for production costs. Even make it a standard fee so inexpensive webcasts cross subsidise expensive ones. Then the disincentive to do events in remote locations will be reduced a little as all the industry would...

Re: Fiji 2012
The commentary was very Seppo extreme sport rad, and annoying. NC, why is Slater up against the lowest ranked qualifier in Rd 2? Aren't seeds now determined by current rankings, not last years? Slater's the top seed in round two. On the 2012 rankings he aint - both Josh Kerr and Taj are ahead of Sl...

Re: Mitchell Rae V2
I've had a standard Mitchell Rae shortboard and it was one of the best boards I ever owned from both a performance and quality perspective.

Re: Single fin shortboards
I have a 6'6" McCoy nugget single fin I rarely surf. I do enjoy surfing it, from maybe 1 foot to 3 foot. It will surf bigger but it's volume gets in the way for duck diving.i love having it in the quiver.

Incidentally if I did get one I'd try to get it without the channel bottom, and see if Chilli will do one with some suitable simple concaves instead.

Re: 83BL Chilli board
I really admire BL, and I grew up surfing from the late 70's on those thicker, wider, shorter (although not so much now) boards. I haven't got any spare coin at the moment but at some point in time I'll probably get my hands on one. Maybe come summer. I'll have a secure shed by then too so my wife w...

Re: Bong in big trouble
I reckon Bong's excursion into "bricks and mortar" retail was hard to understand when most of the rest of the world was trying to get out of it. Who knows who devised the strategy? Maybe O'neill prepared it and it was approved by the Board? We'll not know for sure but I have no issue with the CEO fa...

Re: Rio Floater Pro
While I'm super sad that JBay isn't on this year's tour there's no doubt in my mind that Brazil should have a world tour event. As someone mentioned during the webcast...maybe Louie...it's the only true beach break event on this year's tour...maybe excluding France says me but that's considered to b...

Re: People are soooo deluded they make me sick !!!!
I tried a few different fins after seeing a huge carry on about it. I never really paid much attention to fins other than ensuring I had some, and maybe moving a single fin up and down in the fin box to get different effects. Anyhoo, I tried a few. I noticed a difference, but in the overall scheme o...

It's not a great idea to be inhaling foam dust, chemical vapour, fibreglass particles and resin; just like it's not a great idea to be inhaling chemical vapour, foam dust and epoxy resin particles. I'm no doctor but I'd have been wearing a respirator, personally, if I was doing a lot of it and doing...

I haven't surfed a zap since around 1982. So I couldnt say. I'd think though a nugget or pot belly or Zot in the right size would be perfect.

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot
Even by McCoy standards you're carrying a bit too much volume in those boards for your weight. You could easily knock off 4 inches on those lengths, robably more.

Me either. It's the dishonest way KS presents himself to the public that irks me.

Re: Bells this year ?
I'm lookin at you NC. Just kidding. I've never met KS and I suspect my views about him would moderate if I did. But KS seems to have a KS centred view of life when, at 40, I would have thought he'd be starting to look beyond himself. No doubt if all my mistakes were a matter of public record I would...
