Re: Just general surfing stuff

Well when I was running adventure tours in the hilltribe villages of Northern Thailand, Laos, Vietnam etc the passengers would sometimes ask me as we were sitting around in the villagers houses eating sketchy looking meat and discussing the tribal people's choice of meats, if I had ever eat dog meat...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Probably buying a dirt jumper tomorrow. If I'm going to ride a bike its going to be like I stole it.
No sedate puttering around bike paths for me. Luckily the skate parks are closed so I won't be tempted to fang around in them.

Re: Midlengths

Sounds like a Joel Fitz sea gypsy would suit you well. Wasn't it Tootr who bought one from my local shop? If so how are you liking it?

Re: Midlengths

I've got a 6'6" and a 7'er in those Tajen's. Run them with Webber flex twins and a nubster in the 6'6" and with twins and fcs bonzer sidebites (the smaller of the set) in the rear quad plugs or a straight quad fin set in the 7'er. They can handle size no problem. Can't post photos here. Pics here: h...

Re: Midlengths

Hard to tell in that pic Cranked. Is there can't in the side fins? I ponied up and bought the 4 fin side runners fcs bonzer set $159. Use the larger ones in a 2+1 application and the smaller ones in the rear quad plugs with twin fins. How's the 7'6" salient go? The guys I know at surfboard warehous...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Thanks Thud, I might give it a try, but I'm sold on the "Bonzer" setup I just tried in the Wombat. That set-up will turn mid-face and hold a high line with great speed. I'm keen to try it in double overhead plus. Years ago read an interview with Malcolm Campbell about bonzers and he said that putti...

Re: Midlengths

I've been using bonzer side runner fins in my 2+1's for years. Never took them out of any board I tried them in because more conventional sidebites felt better. The DVS sidebites are my next favourites. They have a template like a sharks tooth.

Re: Bonzers

If you could be bothered you could make them out of old glass flex fcs fins like the M7 and M5s providing you can bend the cant into them at the tabs with heat. I've made funky mini keel sets and Stretch quad trailer fins out of them but never tried to put cant into the tabs.
