I'm sure that he would have preferred dying in huge Waimea but cancer doesn't give you a choice. He just wasted away. Tragic.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
It was the only beach in that vicinity with a rideable wave yesterday but you had to choose wisely with close outs aplenty.
Today the NEr has ruined everything from very early on.

There's a fleet of search and rescue helicopters, jetskis and cops buzzing around Turimetta this arvo. Apparently a floating body was reported but after 2 hours nothing has been found.

Re: Surf fitness
For a good book about foot fitness I recommend "Born To Run" (nothing to do with Springsteen).
It studies the native Indian runners in Mexico's Copper Canyon also looks at the physiological benefits of walking and running barefoot using the author himself as a test dummy.

Welcome back Steve.
Coming in to low tide there were weaker and long-time-coming waves on my nearest point break than suggested by coastalwatch. OK for a mal and not too crowded.

Re: Ebay Bargains thread
15 years ago a former workmate moved up the north coast with a choice between Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie. With young kids he chose Port because of the childhood leukaemia stories he heard about parts of Coffs. Apparently it was due to the banana pesticide usage. Not sure whether it's now fixed...

WD40 is mostly fish oil. How do you know that beany? My wife's rellies manufacture and package the stuff in their plant just south of Sydney. Formula's supposed to be a secret. The instructor at an outboard school I attended told us it was mostly kerosene, with scent added. BTW, "WD" stands for "wa...

DY upwards from that 1st walkway has been crowded for the last few days. Hate to imagine what the weekend will bring. I guess that's what happens with such a high concentration of people living so close to their local beachfront.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Actually looked up stiff necks from surfing and found a surf fitness site. They had a pretty simple exercise where you get one of those stretchy rubber thingos, stand on it and pull up with your hands by your side and bend your neck to the side. Quite a few cracks and really relieved the constricti...

Chronologically separated but geographically very close. There weren't any Japs there when I visited PH in 2000.--++sunstroke++-- wrote:chrisb wrote:That's for Pearl Harbour.
