zzz, I agree, agree, and agree with your points Johnno, I kind of agree but as I've been on both sides to a certain degree - let me explain, a) been out at box head with a friend paddling and had jet skiers - who happen to be life savers come out and buzz the crap out of us jumping/noise/wake .... a...

There was another post from a lid about deadmans on that day - The poster copped a spanking and was kindly given a lift by one of the Jet skiers and seemed to be very appreciative of their presence .... makes you think maybe the people in the water don't mind their presence - given that they probabl...

mondo, Been there done that as I'm a rIght handed goofy and used to surfed the Maccas - Bronte region a far bit. - And I'd think it's got more todo with the waves. In that area you tend to get a lot of barrels but then the waves tend to go fat or close out and thus don't give you the ability to do s...

The problem with towing is you have to put in a lot of practice for fitness levels (legs arms ...) and to keep your skills up so when that big day does come your ready for it, so it's not really a measure of size. Another point is that when I've been paddling and had mates on a ski the amount of wav...

In regard to jet skis I agree that paddlers should have priority over tow ins and I have often used to grab a few extra waves. The 300m mentioned is how far you have to keep away from a designated surf zone, which I believe is the blue flags they put up for d1ck sticker carnivals for the real d1ck s...

Bronte and Tama may be taken with a grain of salt cause if it's over a 1ft they tend to close the beach because the rips are really strong - but I've also had the experience of surfing off the point in between the two and being harassed by the clubbies from both sides and the point in between Bront...

Wanto, After continously breaking boards, I ended up speaking to the the head of school at unsw (it was a while ago and can't remember his name, sorry!) and two of his students had done thesis on surfboards/how they break. Their conclusions were that they break in compression and he suggested that a...
