Re: Another pointless volume thread/rambling

The v-skate was a 6'11" fyi.
The old v-skate was 6'8".
I'd just sold a 6'9" (said 7' on the stringer) Pyzel slab which was really similar in its paddling performance but so much better when on the wave.
So when the Miller didn't make life easier catching waves I wasn't going to keep it.

Re: Another pointless volume thread/rambling

I could but I've got my faves for the points and then my faves for the beachies. The points boards are longer and so paddle across the flats nice and easily while planing into waves early because there's usually a crowd factor involved and I'd rather sit outside further and wait for larger set waves...

Re: Another pointless volume thread/rambling

To add a bit of rambling to this rambling thread: It's funny but I re-visited the Miller v-skate board experience this past week. I had a v-skate as a one board quiver for 2 years and of course rode it in everything. So I picked up one at a really fair price from Gumtree to ride one again. A lot of ...

Re: Quad set ups on longer boards

Yep Soar. I just contacted Greg through his email address on his website and had him send me them. You can contact Soar direct and buy them. Not on their website though. I've yet to run it with only one rear fin in the thruster plugs but use it like that in my DVS weiner 6'3" since it just has thrus...

Re: Quad set ups on longer boards

Fighting it out for my best midlength ever with the DVS full carbon/eps 8'er is my Woosley 7'6" vquad.
Deep double concaves and teamed with the Webber flex fins....yeeeeew!

A weiner is just a different name for the allrounder when its lengths under 7'.

Re: What shortboard

Beery,
You'd love my DVS weiner 6'3" with its Webber flex fin set up. Takes a high line that is illuminating since there's a long fin in the water on your upper rail and then into a bottom turn and you can really feel the fins load up and then twangggggg.

They made a 7'2 but production stopped about a year ago. They were a bargain: solid glass, resin tint, cut lap and polished for $630. No-one else would supply that for less than $1000
I bought mine for $400 when they were selling out the last of them.

Re: Guns.

I've ridden the blackhawk a few more times since the last post. That board will go great at Impossibles. When the greedy longboarders who sit out the back of my local soft arsed point try to hog every set wave they have discovered the blackhawk's leveled the playing field. Lol. Smooth arcs like a 70...

Used to have an 8'er.
Great board.
The 7'4" could be a one board quiver.
It will handle solid waves too.

Re: Gary McNeill

I've got a 7'2" x 22" x 3&1/4" cv2 that has rails so voluminous, so thick and meaty the mere sight of them would make old man McCoy green with envy to his core. This veritable barge floats me with 1/2 dry thighs with the board level in the water. Board was shaped for an old, heavy longboarder with d...

Re: Tell me about quads

I got onto quads as with less experience I enjoyed the speed they naturally generated allowing me to concentrate on other stuff.. Now a few years on, as Hatchy says I am finding "I'd be outrunning the wave, often ending up too far out in front of the pocket, washing off speed and cutting back. over...

Re: Tell me about quads

Depends upon the tail width but on most of my quads I run twin/small trailer combos. So larger than the fins on the McKee chart above. Think CI AMT's, Akila Aipa twins, Scarfini twins with various rears, FCS gxq (longboard sidebites), Dick Van Straalen sharktooth rears from both Shapers and Huie, In...

Re: bonzers.....the quad fad is over

Looking for a set of fcs tabbed bonzer siderunners to buy if anyone has a set they want to sell.
Specifically I'm really after the smaller pair (fronts) as I have a pair of the larger ones already.

Re: Ebay Bargains thread

Ahem...Gaz has been known to make one a "tad" shorter than what's on the order card.
Just ask JaM71.
I've got a Pyzel that says 7' but is all of 6'9".

Just put your 7' bonzer fin in the mail back to you.
Cheers for the loan!
