Bit of swell today too Ricky. Good on you
Yeah, but I deliberately took the soft option :-D-: after so long out of the water it was just what I needed

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Finally got my first post lockdown surf in. It was crowded as expected but could have been worse. I managed to find a little uncrowded peak at sth Narra. As anticipated my timing was well off but paddling and getting around was ok.

Felt great but lost interest after an hr. Good to be back

What made you lose faith in your GP?
Just a few things I've gone to him about and hasn't really taken interest. Old and set in his ways I guess. To be fair hes indulged me other times. He also has a shit list of specialists he refers you to

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I went out for the first time in a while this morning. Had a scary experience. I got caught inside and even though it was fairly small it was very consistent and I took ages to get out of there. Felt really sick and out of sorts for a while after. Wondered if I was having a heart attack. Lack of su...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I dropped my son off at his gfs place near woy woy so took my board and had a surf at umina. It was tiny of course but well protected from the wind so pretty clean. Nice

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I ignored crabmeats advice and went for a surf at maroubra since the nbs are off limits. My God it was dire. I think a paddle would be a better description. Doubt I'll bother again for a while

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Serious question Nick - with all you've done, surfed and achieved would you really charge deadman's at (almost) 61? I appreciate the insane adrenaline rush, but fcuk some of those wipeouts look hideous. Surely that detracts from it? Or is that just part of the thrill? Even in my young days I had rea...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Gordons Bay surfer found alive In fact he got out and went home, didn't know there was a search on, called the cops next day (today). People are always calling the police because they think the person is in trouble. I think old mate Marcus used to complain about this a bit up at Newcastle on a big ...

Re: Midlengths

Cool, thanks guys Bro, I got a NPJ 6'10 2+1 midlength that goes really well in a lot of conditions that I don't want anymore. Bit battered and bruised but plenty of life in it. PM me if interested.. Hey thanks for that kind offer. Might be a bit on the small side for me unless it's over 3 '' thick!...

Re: Midlengths

Forget litres, just get around a 7’6 with a bit of foam out to the rails. Yep. Or even 8ft. Flat entry into medium rocker. Try and find an old Mctavish Carver (or new) or board with similar design features is my take. He still produces them so there would be a description on line. Yeah, but it kind...

Re: Midlengths

My long-lost interest in surfing might be making a comeback via a desire to get on something fat and fishy. I'm a little confused about the volume in litres that gets bandied about. Is there an equation to match the best volume for your height and weight? I'm 6'4'' and about 104kgs so it'd have to b...

My son is down at Meadowbank pretty much every waking moment when he's not at school. I'll be taking him down there again tonight - with my daughter riding her bike around the paths and me on my '86 retro board. I'll just stick to cruising; not way I'm getting in the bowl on that death machine!

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Had a quick surf yesterday morning at Cronulla for old time's sake as I was visiting Dad in Sutherland hospital.
Got there right on Nipper time - nearly Beanpole'd it as there were no parks! Finally got one a few blocks back. Full but fun - not the size I was expecting
