Re: Bodyboarding and Cycling from Banda Aceh to Bali

never mind what bodyboards you are taking (surfer talking here  )... what bikes and cargo carrying system are you using? I'd imagine something rather robust for a trip that long.... using panniers or trailers?

I did the tour of the St James railway tunnels a few years ago.... very interesting. The tunnels were modified in WW2 in case they were needed as bomb shelters, and there is graffiti from the soldiers who built the blast walls inside the tunnels. Well worth a look, but they have put tours on hold......

Cronulla/Island pics - 1/12/08

Title says it all, really. The island was packed with the prone, only a couple of boardriders out. So no decent shots of any boardriders, I'm afraid - the bodyboarders were getting the good 'uns- and the great barrel I saw one guy get didn't get photographed as I was talking to someone about my lens...

how big is the board? that could help. there is also a pretty big difference between the Am2's and the original AM's Yeah, I guess that would have helped- 6' 4" x 18 ¾" x 2 ⅜" Flat up front then double concave through the tail. Good for small to medium sized stuff. I wasn't trying to get others to ...

I had this post sitting here since yesterday... others have said what I have here, but I typed all this and it seems a waste to hit the delete key... I find it very difficult to envisage the "rape and pillage" of a deepwater wave that by virtue of it location and limited times it is actually rideab...

I did something I rarely, if ever do at all yesterday - I deliberately burnt someone on a set wave that possibly was the best wave in the 2 hours I was out there. The miscreant had earlier blatantly taken off on a wave I was in position for, paddling into and had called him off (nothing like a loud ...
