Surely the locals will just do what Lennox has just done.

I think Sydney or Newy would be the only place that may accept in NSW.

With median house prices in Lennox at 1mil per year and units not far behind, I think if the kids want to meet their ‘surf heroes’ then a 55min drive up the road to snapper won’t be that big an ask of mum and dad.

So will the point be uncrowded for the 4pm sesh then?

Been surfing Kirra a lot lately on a twinny.
Really suits it at 2-4ft to get that effortless drive to make fast sections that I’d have trouble on a regular shorty.
The good surfers do well on anything out there though.

Not saying he looks bad on shorter boards btw. He looks good on most boards. But look at his 80s footage at places like huntington - it doesn't look great in isolation, but then watch the other guy in his heat and you'll see he was doing well. Pretty hard to make the boards perform when the waves ar...

On reflection I think it's more to do with the length of the boards they were riding in the 80s. Curren usually looks better on shorter boards. I disagree - backdoor cutback 7'9, pink/black wetsuit at JBay wave- 6'6, whereas the bawa footage on the 5'7 fireball fish, while kinda cool, looks nursed ...

We had a look at that particular point and all the points near Salina Cruz. They need more swell than barra (rip curl search wave).

Needs a fair bit of swell and I guess direction dependent too.
Dead flat when I went there while puerto was 4-6ft.

Had fun there last week but not sure what that solid sth swell did to it.

There’ll be waves but nothing to rave about.

If you can take a short but reasonably voluminous twinny or quad (something fast anyway) you’ll do well.

you get any Buddy? fcuk it was frustrating this arvo. with good banks and offshore winds it would have been spectacular as the swell went more SSE today. instead it just smeared out across the back like a toddler with a plate of over-ripe banana. and a really nasty gurgle running through it. Worked...
