Oh and cowrie beach next to the seal colony at Phillip island was pretty freaky.

I surf a few places that have had attacks around here but the sharkiest “feeling” place I’ve surfed was Pelicans in Victoria.
swvic will know it.
And lighthouse near there also felt pretty dodgy paddling across the channel.
Haven’t surfed SA or WA though.

There was a guy out there for a bit when I got out and a few guys down the beach closer to shore.
But it just magnifies these small south swells so much better out there than anywhere else on the coast.

The bank’s a bit far out but should move in over the next few weeks and then it’ll be packed and I’ll surf elsewhere again.

I realise the greeny bloke was on a 7’ish twin as well.

That Greenmount attack changed things for me and a lot of guys that I know. Before that we were always wary when surfing over the border. But after that one I realised that it can happen absolutely anywhere. Yeh that one just made me think, oh well if it’s time it’s time. I don’t surf little 5’10s ...

And the chicks don’t kook all the barrels like they used to either.

I thought they’ve improved too and the scale has accommodated that.

The tub at Homebush is meant to open sometime next year. Only a 15 mins drive, I’m looking forward to it. It’ll be just a form of cross-training (like skateboarding is) for what i can see. Like there’s no “down the line” or anything, maybe just good to fine tune really right in the pocket surfing, ...

Pumping barrels today. Bout 6-7 guys out first thing so I surfed down the beach a bit. Then they all went to work so I paddled back up and had the main spot to myself. Nother beautiful day, beautiful sunshine and waves.
Banks are trashed at my regular locals or today’s swell not hitting the right so surfed the local b grade point.
Solid sets, me and one other guy taking turns.
And boardies no vest again.

Another day of pristine 3 foot beach break barrels in warm water under blue skies.
Minimal crowd, spread out.

Yeh, that doesn’t sound too balmy.
How were the waves?
