When you are ready to give it all in, when there is no reason for you to go on, then buy a log.
Until that time, fight the good fight. Honestly, I don't intend surfing any more when I get to that stage.

How's the farking irony, you go out and surf at the pass and get killed by your own board!

Best wishes to you. How old JD? Still plenty more years of shaping ahead of you? I'm tempted. At this stage, if I start saving real hard, I might be able to put my order in before you turn 60. You'll know I'm doing Ok when you get an order, but that may not be so far away. Things on the up generally.

Re: Josh Dowling Designs
Unfortunately. I even know what I'm getting for my birthday, which is in a week. Underpants. Funk I hate birthdays. I'm obliged to act all grateful for my pack of 7 new target jocks FFS. I'll tell you what I'd reeeeely like - a goddam decent run of swell, a blowy and a million bucks. JD, I assume y...

Re: Shorter or Longer?
I have a 6'2'' quad and a 6'10'' thruster pintail. I'm not going longer, the 6'10' can get me into waves at the peak of my comfort zone and beyond, and the 6'2'' is perfect for anything smaller. I'm not buying the short fat boards, but I do have a bit of extra foam in both of them compared to what y...

Re: Change Needed: Biscuit? Gravy? Neck Beard? MB?
Hello guys, I am currently riding pretty much an all-round shortboard, nothing too exciting with the following dimensions: 5'11 x 19 x 2 3/8 x 27.7L. Lately, I feel this urge to try out one of those smaller, floatier wave-catching machines Spend your money on a shrink, it's just another freaking ma...

Hey Josh, saw your mug in the Sydney Morning Herald the other day, something about innovations, with your webmaster/iphone app guy. Very cool. Your better looking than I expected. I was assuming the hunchback of notre dame was punching out these beautiful boards from the basement, rarely every seein...

Nothing wrong with Rosie. Takes a bit of getting used to, but I reckon she's ok. Better than many of the blokes. What the hell has happened with simple things like 'heats on demand'. Be damned if I can find anything on the intertubes. Googled to my heart's content, and got last year's heats on deman...

There's a channel, but if you want to catch a wave you will have to leave the channel and venture into the broken wave zone. All sorts of tricks to duckdiving and negotiating that spot, they wouldn't make much sense unless we were out there. It's heavy but it's cool! ..................................

It took me a little while but I now realise that Alana Blanchard is the one playing everyone else for a sucker.
Nick might find it boring, I find it rather magnificent, but the fact is that we are irrelevant, her target market is not 50+ year old men.

http://metvuw.com/forecast/2013022418/rain-swp-2013022418-168.gif My favourite weather site ER. I found it quite a few years ago when looking for anything that would give me a good site of our actual swell generating window, rather than just the weather immediately off the coast, and haven't let go.
