Someones watching??
I was on a break at work and tuned in to be told that they're on hold and hoping for better conditions tomorrow, despite the 25 knot onshore wind!

Could this possibly be worse than Snapper?

Re: Fantasy surfer comp

I wasn't watching the heat draw closely enough. Three surfers going head to head in the first round is not a good start.

It's a shame that today is going to be the best conditions for the next week. Small wave surfers will again go well this comp

I'm not one to watch the tropical northern hemisphere systems very often, but does anyone have any info/precedence on the Cat-5 typhoon currently impacting Yap and heading towards the Philippines? Late March over there would be the equivalent of seeing a huge cyclone here at the end of September!

Re: Fantasy surfer comp

Beginner's luck! I can only go downhill from here...

It's my first time in this fantasy comp thing and it sure does make it more interesting, especially when your surfers are up against the Brazzos!

Re: snapper pro

Medina should be all over this small slop considering what gets served up in Brazil every year. I don't think the WSL will be happy with their new poster child.

More crispy turns there from Owen, unfortunately not enough 'zip' to get the big score.

Re: snapper pro

A few choice words from Gabby there, as you'd expect in the circumstances.

I wish I could pull off some of these "layback daggers" and "knifes". Are these guys getting paid extra to make these BS names up?

Re: Fantasy surfer comp

Alright I'm going to try the fantasy thing this year. I'm currently fantasizing about most of the female surfers to see if that helps at all...

The old details still works. Who else is in?

Vintage Board Restoration

I'm looking at getting one of my dad's old boards repaired/restored. Does anyone know someone (preferably NSW) who does quality work and colour matching? It's got a decent ding from a fin on the underside and the swallow tail is a bit soft, but the rest only needs a light polish. I should probably a...

Re: Teahupoo Contest

He really stepped it up a notch in the final and Kelly made uncharacteristic mistakes. Well deserved win by Medina.
JJF vs KS was something special.

Re: Teahupoo Contest

JJF's last wave called a 9.87??? Sure it was big and a nice steep drop, though he never disappeared behind the curtain. The commentators were jizzing all over it as well 3-)

No doubt the guy has balls of steel and talent to boot, but I'm sure even he thought it was overcooked.

Gotta watch out for them "Tube Monsters" as well!

That was a huge wipeout for the local wildcard. I hope he's not too seriously hurt.

Re: Fiji 2014

Flores with the dummy spit, paddling back to the boat with 5 minutes to go. Would a real surfer (or realsurfer) turn his back on a 3 man free surf at Cloudbreak?

Re: Fiji 2014

Kelly's doing his usual routine. Making crap waves look amazing... boring.

My favourite part of the heat was Turp's call of Flores "Penetrating deep on his backside".

Re: Coffs Harbour artificial reef plans in limbo

If you look at an aerial view of the harbour at Coffs, it's fairly obvious why there is so much erosion on the northern side as the longshore drift pushes sand into deep water beyond Muttonbird Island. Putting a reef out the back may reduce the peak wave action and slow down the rate of erosion but ...

I'm heading to Melbourne next weekend for the F1 so there's a 100% chance the whole east coast will be pumping!

You guys owe me one...
