Re: First OS surf trip.

Good idea channels. I have a pair of those fcs ones from a previous trip which luckily I could hand over to my son to use. The ONeills are way better imho. They don't have a bottom edge like a pair of shoes and are bendier without compromising strength much.

Re: My rashy is killing me

Well ultimately I don't care if adults decide to fry themselves in the name of fashion. They have been doing that for generations. But when little groms start saying no to sun protection its particularly annoying. So this morning it was little and there were for bondi a lot of groms out. There seems...

Re: My rashy is killing me

Quite funny seeing all the fashion victims either frying without a rashie or cooking in their wetsuits because its uncool to use appropriate sun protection. It really is a trend. Don't think Ive seen a grommet in a rashie lately.

Re: First OS surf trip.

I hate booties but I found the ONiell ones heaps better than the others. As far as reefs go I managed to slice my foot up at Kuta reef one time when it was tiny so I wouldn't say the reefs aren't sharp if you hit them in under overhead conditions. Also good to at least wear one boot so you can stand...

Re: Summer 2013-'14

Do you think your diet is giving you the edge, Steve?
You seem to have got your hunger back :-)(

Sorry, to hear its hot down there, groots, cause today was magnificent in Sydney.

My question is really how it's lookin for the long weekend?
Maybe down south. Maybe a bit north.

Re: Ask Carroll

What about the broader question of synchronicity?
When a confluence of random events seem to come together in a meaningful way?

Re: First OS surf trip.

Hope they treat them better than our last year. Looked out the window when we were leaving and went "oh, look there's our boards. Lucky they stacked them up the end of the trolley with nothing on top of them." Then watched as they chucked a couple of suitcases on them from a distance...with a bit of...

Re: Ask Carroll

An archetypal scenario, nick. People read natural events as signs and omens. Some people read everything around them as having symbolic value and others ignore these type of synchronistic events. I've read a number of times about competitors thinking certain surfers willed waves to come and even rea...

Someone will dutifully find a photo of you in a peaked cap. Suppose it's not really relevant Clubbie Nick.jpg What the hell Peaked Nick.jpg Ears out it is Do you reckon clubbie caps might start to gain traction with surfers? As an old foggie I've noticed getting a bit fried on top during long summe...

Re: Ask Carroll

Agree about pot and the government. The fact that it is an agricultural product that anyone can grow in their backyard makes it unattractive to the government as a proposition. It is fundamentally an individual gardening activity representing the freedom of the individual to generate their own enter...

Very Zen there Roi. I particularly like when it looks like you might whip it around for a cutback and then.......you don't.

Re: Ask Carroll

Ironically its illegality means the huge section of the adult population and pollies in particular who have used it tend to shut up in case the minority zealots beat them over the head with it as an issue. I'm looking at you Cory.

So Nick, peaked caps worn with the ears tucked in?
