Re: Roys bank balance
Hey Roy
In terms of performance- How does the gullwing fin differ from a more standard fin and how does the bumpy leading edge differ from standard edge ?
And what type of boards and surfing is it all best suited to ?
Serious question, genuine interest. Cheers

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Novel First time out at a dicey righthand reef break . Very shifty . Cheese-grater dry/exposed inside . Hard to peg yourself deep in the right spot with full confidence as many of the waves would section out or shutdown. Got a couple but nothing too flash . Got caught inside for a bit at one point a...

Re: Spring fourteen
What's the call for tomorrow? Will it deliver? I can think of one spot in particular on the NB's that will. Strong south swell, light north winds. It will be sizey but mobbed. There's also a couple this side of the bridge too. One in particular that I'm keeping a close watch on that "may" be be wor...

Re: Single Fins
One day perhaps. But at this point I've got my quiver and all conditions covered. Now reduced it to 6 boards in total that'll cover knee high to 12 foot regardless of however it's breaking and however I feel like surfing on the day

Re: Single Fins
thanks tootr... though huie's price was fair. and i appreciate his efforts. and i'd rather give my $ to some fellow peeps in preference to a larger company (nothing against them) but want to keep things "grass roots" and all that re: the singley. it's not about money in this instance..

Re: Single Fins
Thanks Shep. I'm getting Huie to hook me up with a 9" fin. See his pic. So I'm guessing something like that. He is also including the box / base . Will prob get Jacksons surfboards to do the repair and install, as they are pretty awesome with repairs and restorations. Back on the board itself, it's ...

Re: Single Fins
That makes total sense. And I hear what he's saying about putting the fin right at the back of the tail. Have been doing that in my bonzer for double overhead down the line stuff. It feels like a totally different board. Holds your line firm and true.

Re: Single Fins
that looks nice Huie.. is it one of yours that you shaped? and if so, i'd be keen to buy one (but pref. if there's one that'd fit into a fin-box, as i'm planning to putting one in).

Re: Single Fins
ER: that fin you posted up looks good. but it's 8" vs. the 9" for the true ames one... what do you reckon would be best ? keeping in mind that i'm an ape (although only 78kg) therefore think that the 9" might be better ?
