Re: HOLY MALE
AG, very very painful. You have to make your own decisions about the future of the relationship. No point maintaining it if you think it won't work. Best to stop. But, ideally you should ease up on the vengeance. Trying to hurt back really doesn't help you. Some good old quotes. “Before you embark o...

Re: Bells
They should give that local bloke Camel a wildcard. I can imagine there would be a few locals who wait for swells like that will Taj perform in those types of waves at his local? I think Taj once said, outside of competition, he had only surfed Margs once. He does not rate the wave. I like watching...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Our family car when I was in single figures in the early 1960's was an old Ford Prefect. If the battery was feeling a bit sluggish, you could start the car with a crank handle. We did long trips in that car.

ross however needs to be sent back, and maybe speaker ought to look more abroad than old quiksilver surfers. Many find Ross the best commentator. who's many? ross is grating. his voice squeaky, terms like uber buttery, surf turkey . In readers comments, I see him picked out for praise. In September...

Re: Bells
Bells is a special event, The venue, the history, the waves, the crowd. Many pros might not like the wave, but I think they all want to win it. Because it is so hard, exposing and the most historic event on the tour. I really enjoyed watching Adriano Da Souza winning Bells in very solid surf in 2013...

Re: Bells
how embarrassing are the surf line forecasts. says its going to be 4ft then in brackets (waist to shoulder high). Surfline uses 'face feet' as their metric, so technically they're correct. They switched over around 10 years back, a cynic might say around the time XXL and other big wave conte...

Re: Bells
Latest modelling say the blocking high might be moving north and a few polar lows drifting thru. Ergo, next week might actually get some quite decent surf. Though, what little I saw today I quite enjoyed. The surfing was more entertaining than on a standard good day. There was some size and it was a...

Re: Bells
Also, need to make the comps quicker so they can pick the eyes out of the swell and conditions. Virtually every non-participant who has ever commented on the tour agrees with you. AND it would be easy to do AND it would reduce costs. But still they don't. I suppose they reckon more show time means ...

Braithy, your timely fear article ties in neatly with one of Sean Doherty's 2015 predictions over at Coastalwatch. 8. More 7'10"s Will Be Shaped And Surfed This Year Than Ever Before Last year we eulogised tow surfing. The water donkeys had fallen silent, gathering dust in garages around the world. ...

With help from Google.
There are lots of diferent types of pandanus.
The inland Northern Territory is mainly Pandanus spiralus.
The east coast ones are mainly Pandanus tectorius.

Re: Bells
It's all about the waves.
I like the tour existing. It has given me a lot of pleasure and interest over the years. I just wish it wasn't in Australia. I feel a slight and inane sense of national embarrassment when the only surf we can provide is a bit crap (i.e. normal conditions).
