Re: Is anyone backyard shaping any more

I've decided to go an old way. I'm working out basic measurements like the 12 inch ones and width and where widest point is on Aku. Then I'm just going to use a few nails, a baton, thin mdf and a baton. Simply bend and draw. Today I've glued up some new boards with 40 grit sandpaper, also purchased ...

Re: Is anyone backyard shaping any more

In fact you can print off PDFs and measurements in demo mode - shouldnt cost anything Sorry saltman, im pc inept. I thought you needed to save the file to print it off. How do you print it off to a pdf. The reason I would like the foil measurments is I can get a nice deckline in by following the th...

Re: Is anyone backyard shaping any more

At the present moment I'm in discussions with AKU shaper over pricing. After explaining I don't need any software for cutting on a machine, I don't need any software for creating concaves. All I would like is to creat curves according to measurements a foot back from nose and tail plus centre measu...

Re: Operation

Re: Operation

Ive sort of giving up on the idea off every getting up on a board again. Though I am keen to start taking photos with my go pro. Maybe I should go to a long board. I dont know really. The whole experience has left me in a bit of a shock at how fragile we really are. Life goes on and I will just take...

Re: Operation

Re: Is anyone backyard shaping any more

Has anyone got any favorite vids on shaping rails, as these always freak me out, more than any other part of the board, i find the rails the most difficult.

Any discussion on rails is appreciated if you guys want to.

Re: princess margaret river pro

I just watched the comp at snapper and then watched some old clips of occy and Curren at jbay. Everyone will have a different criteria of what good surfing is. It might be my age (50) and the fact that since I'm landlocked while waiting for surgery I've been having dreams of surfing. I know you just...
