http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011/01/17/3114471.htm?site=brisbane According to Haydon, there's not much time for the January cyclone to form ... looking at the map, there's a good chance he's right ... bring on the rain! No time for Haydon: he's a shyster and that is perfect proof. He got tha...

and it might be only just getting started.....some of the models show some pretty apocalyptic scenarios.

Emptying out Wivenhoe might look like genius before the summer is through.

Re: Paradise Lost for Aussie Surfboard Makers Amid China Imp

sooner or later the costs of globalisation are going to hit so hard that people will be forced to reconstruct local economies.

Those who have taken steps along that path will be far better off.

It starts with food.

Re: Snapper - It's not paradise.

The very obvious unintended good consequence is that the people bulldozing the beach shacks to erect tastefully designed homes with lap pools don't tend to be super skilled or hard-core surfers. The dole is no longer a living wage at most Aus coastal towns due to the sea-changers driving up housing ...

It was easter 1981. I looked in the mirror and a full head of hair stared back at me. Good morning my name is Nicholas Carroll and I choose to start my story here. Truth be told I was beginning to be worried about the amount of hair clogging up the plughole but this morning a force of much larger di...

It's hard to say too, how effective it would be.

certain times of year I see heaps of whalers when rockfishing.

I think the fact that this occurs in late summer/autumn during the surf season would mean that the warnings would be ineffective.

Pretty sure I saw KS surfing that board at beacons .......IMO it surfed way better under his feet than the CI he rode to victory. (2010).

Re: Snapper - It's not paradise.

Typical broadsheet beat-up. It's fcuking January. Same as it ever was. Day before when the Super-y was 6ft and stormy, bit of work, there were 20 guys out. On a ten minute drive yesterday I saw at least 3 or 4 surfable options with no-one out. Seriously, if you take a few ultra-crowded surf zones ou...
