Re: Repair Tips

Yeah, definitely got water in it, but hasn't de-lammed, so I'll take the former option.

Thanks for that.

Re: Repair Tips

Great stuff, Ric.

I've got a shatter - from my cheekbone - on the underside and it's yellowing. What's the best way to repair these?

Anyone, know of a decent repairer around the Maroubra area? I used to go see Luke at the Ding Doctor, but he's moved on from his old premises.

Re: Idi ots and mor ons in the surf. So confused !!!!!

Perhaps the conversation should've played out thus:

Dropper-innerer: “fark off u interloper…you don’t even farkin’ live here…so fark off”

Dropped-in-on: "farkin’ xenophobe. go fark yourself."

The Bra. Farkin crap. Banks are just rubbish. Shutdown City. That's three days in a row on my farkin holidays. So over it.

Came home and continued digging and picking but fueled with a shit-surf fury.

Re: where have all you predictors gone

I'm at work and only checking via CW's cams but no, it doesn't look like anything has come through. I could be an optimist and suggest that an incoming tide will improve things, but I doubt it.

Oh c'mon Don, have you ever known a surfer to not complain? Given the number of variables, there's always something. Even if everything did fall into place, I'd still complain about crap coffee, male pattern baldness and/or the state of things.

Autumn? One month down, two to go. NC's prediction is holding true, so far.

Re: now i've seen everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christ, and we thought SUPs were bad. in my defence, I was at least an hours boat trip away from any surfers. Hey alakboo, shoulda made it clear that I was referring to the clip, not you. This does remind me of a story, dunno if it was true or not, from back in the 70s. Apparently, one of the pros ...

Re: local shapers vs big names..

It all depends on the relationship between you and the shaper. You have to be honest about your surfing ability and he has to engage with what you're telling him. I had a bunch of boards shaped by Brett Warner. Now I'm just your average old bloke who's been surfing since I was kid; Brett wouldn't kn...

Re: where have all you predictors gone

Might've been pumping in SE Qld, but Sydney is living up to NC's prediction. And Oldman's probably right about taking the beginning of the week off: while I have no hard evidence, my observation is that Sunday night/Monday morning the swell starts to rise, stays up through the week and Friday arvo i...

Will we be judged on baldness or surfing ability?

Re: A Question Of Science

While he doesn't talk about it in this article - http://www.bytimbaker.com/recent_works/geoff-mccoy-profile/ - Geoff McCoy says that he's more interested in applying physics than 'feeling' when shaping. He criticised other shapers for not taking a more disciplined approach to shaping. I was pretty s...

Re: definition of snaking

Some people might accuse you of snaking if you repeatedly paddle inside them to get priority, set after set. However, I do this all the time and it'd take a bold person to accuse me of it. E.g. I only do it to people who deserve it, kooks, non-locals or non-regulars if I'm a local or regular, kiwis...
