Re: General snow stuff
I don't know what the splitboard setup is like but many ski touring bindings don't have a flat position and are therefore not great on the flats. Like walking in stilettos, apparently. You get sore legs holding yourself from tripping forward.

Re: General snow stuff
Triceps are from using too much pushing. I'm guessing you'll be in an icy area so crampons might be a good idea. Nothing worse than it gradually getting too far onto ice without and then the sketchiness of trying not to slide to doom.

Most likely, so I don't have to hassle with stupid Australian check-in counters and maybe one day contemplate North America again.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
Avalanche backpack. Classified as Dangerous Goods due to explosive trigger and compressed argon or maybe nitrogen. It has its own special section in the IATA regulations. I always get airline permission. In Europe they see dozens and just wave you through. In Australia I've always had a slight delay...

Re: Just general surfing stuff
I dunno steve. I've walked out of some pubs and been in Laverton or Wiluna or Nullagine or Yalgoo. Not places I'm exactly stoked to be in.steve shearer wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 2:49 pmthe difference is: you walk out of one of those pubs and you are in Australia.
You walk out of an English suburban pub and you're in England.

steve must not have been to many Australian pubs. I've been to many that wouldn't be out of place in Wake In Fright.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
Did you read the other thread? It's for a specific use case. Yep it's massive, which was the shortcoming I mentioned. Couple of times its size and volume made it hard to bite when I needed it to. But for a big floaty thing it fits the bill. Still turned but the dross means I'll need more time to eva...
