Re: Where did you surf today ?

I saw a few funnish looking peaks with clean faces and no one on them. I had low expectations but thought I could at least get a few turns in. Got across the rocks, got halfway out and then it started bucketing down with a stiff NEaster that would occasionally swing SE. Rain drops were bouncing 6inc...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Well I think as the cops gave warnings and fines at Lennox, the tourists and vans are just pushing further south. North wall crowd looks like dbah (just check the RMS cam), I surfed a spot where I surf to avoid crowds and there were multiple vans and troopies with luggage on top, about 8 chicks with...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

fuschia this morning was good. It had that longer period with appropriate but not too lengthy lulls like you get in the south and the west where you’re happy to get pumped by a set and it’s easy enough to get back out. Caught 3 set waves to pull off with a dry hair paddle back. Heard it pumped all d...

2'-3' light onshore crap. At least it was a reef and only 4 people out though.

After having been able to gloat a bit for the last 6 years I'm now going to be pitied
Pity is reserved for those in Sydney’s Eastern burbs.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

A great day of waves today, was glassy till 1.30 then still only light wind now.
Solid 4-5 with 6ft clean ups.
Crowds were back to manageable for the early, uncrowded for the midmorning into lunchtime session.

Wait, you think that 6' is too much for that board? I got a 6'2" last year that has a higher upper limit but the 6'1" is pretty solid at that size for me, and I'm bigger than you (taller, maybe same weight).
Solid 6’ from the south can be a bit hard to paddle into/paddle to position.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I’ve driven a few times but mostly bike. Last week I surfed the wall, which I don’t all that often and I got blatantly burnt by 3 people. I just laughed it off, but I got the feeling it was a few locals starting to do the ‘if I don’t remember seeing you before, I’m gonna burn you’ thing with the bac...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I rode my bike down to the wall late arvo and did notice a few long lines stacking up on the bar.

I had a morning and a midday surf already and got my fill then.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Bring on the cold weather and stiff, brisk westerlies.
That’ll get rid of half of them.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I do reckon. All surfers have also returned from overseas. They also haven’t gone camping in the national parks. Might be a few city folk that have got into their holiday homes. Not many out getting on it real late so plan the days around surfing. Part timers are surfing more because they have nothi...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

talk about all prick and ribs. thats was the most crowded dawn patrol I've ever seen.....all for single wave 3ft sets every half hour. Was the same down here. The spot with the big dirt carpark was completely full at 6.30am all the way to the sth end of it with a stream of cars still piling in. But...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Seems to have backed off a bit, Steve?
Just in the last hour or so, maybe just as it approaches the low.
Was pretty rubbish.

Well it would be ok if it was uncrowded, but not at all worth it for what it is.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

There’s definitely been a lot of people around the beaches up here this weekend but with all day clean conditions the last 2 days and east swell providing options at every beach, there’s been waves for everyone.
Nothing epic, but plenty of fun and the water is oh so warm and clear.

What’s an Australian foil? Made for slight more powerful waves. Thinner tail and nose?
Based off Keith Paul’s 70s boards.
I think the Maui foil was more a step up/ thinner and the Aus foil more an all rounder.

Nice. Wonder why it's an Australian Foil?
Don't answer. It's Retro I know.
Looks like a Rabbidge on the left.
Probably this decal
