I can see the gumtree ad already.

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
They look garbage.
I bought an $80 brand new Peak 32 steamer from sideways and it was so stiff I couldn’t short board in it as it restricted my paddle and pop up.
Could mid length and log ok with the extra stability.

Yeh, he, or at least the board couldn’t hold a continuous line/curve for long.

Re: Midlengths
My 6’5 rhythm sticks just went amazing at 2-3ft point.
Probably as close to a 1 board quiver as I’ve had.
Reckon could handle 2-8ft and not be too bothered about wanting a different board.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Getting a park in Byron is by far the hardest part. The Pass has been insane all week. But I've been happy surfing chunky, side-shore Lennox. Amazing how few bother when there’s clean waves at the pass and gatta. On sunday arvo I paddled out at the local, a southish facing break. Pretty solid, work...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
I sprained my AC joint landing sideways on the inside reef there. Bloody design fault, I say. I was on my way to the pass for the early this morn but noticed the wind was SW so went out at the point instead. Stayed clean for all of 15 minutes but was fun nonetheless. Changed the box fin out in the 6...

Re: Just general surfing stuff
Sometimes.
Though I wouldn’t call it a hard breaking wave.
But if you can’t read a wave and/or position yourself on a wave you can be a danger to yourself and others out there for sure.
I always identify the kooks and avoid as much as possible having them take the wave before me.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
Signing waivers usually means close to jackshit in these cases. There is a condition though, that if staff deem you're not capable of surfing that session, they will remove you from the tub. If he was clearly a kook, and wasn't asked to get out, yeah the pool might be in a spot of bother. I’ll admi...

Re: Just general surfing stuff
Urbnsurf are saying he was a kook in the advanced setting. Urbnsurf denies the business is unsafe and says Mr Nolan failed to take reasonable care for his own safety, did not pay attention to his surroundings and chose to surf in an advanced session “when he knew or ought to have known this was beyo...

Re: Just general surfing stuff
I’ve surfed intermediate, advanced and advanced turns. I don’t consider myself an advanced surfer, but have no trouble surfing those settings. The amount of people out in the advanced sessions that I don’t consider anywhere near even an intermediate skill level is pretty crazy. My last session a guy...

Re: Just general surfing stuff
I don’t know the outcome but I think it’s bullshit if he wins. There’s a shallow bit of concrete to make it barrel. If you want to surf the barrel setting, you may hit the concrete with significant force. Simple in my eyes. There’s a waiver to sign and they re-enforce the dangers pre paddle out and ...
