Re: Just general surfing stuff
I remember a competition in the late 80's or 90's where a punter won a comp (not a surfing comp some marketing campaign) and the prize was a place in the trials at bells. I recall some middle aged brickie won it- pretty sure I read about it in tracks. I always thought that was a pretty cool experien...

Re: Midlengths
The mote massive has a beautiful foil, it's a blend of a single fin and a twin fin in a midlength package. The foam distribution is even -more old school which allows beautiful trim particularly over flat spots and goes surprisingly well in average surf. Better waves is where it shines, and likes to...

Re: Midlengths
I ordered a mote massive- didn't hear anything for months, picked up a mid six which felt great under the arm, moment of weakness, bought the fecker. Forgot all about the mote. 3 months later... my mote was ready (10 months after ordering), had it for a couple of months now- magic board.... haven't ...

Re: Liddle Hulls
What have you ordered mate? Death machine???? The model’s called a Bojorquez - a stretched out and less extreme Death Machine - less of an S deck and not such Bladey Rails. Told Mike Saggus from Surf Empire where I normally surf and he had a chat to Kirk Putnam about it, and that was the recommenda...

Re: Midlengths
My long-lost interest in surfing might be making a comeback via a desire to get on something fat and fishy. I'm a little confused about the volume in litres that gets bandied about. Is there an equation to match the best volume for your height and weight? I'm 6'4'' and about 104kgs so it'd have to ...

Re: Midlengths
After switching to longer boards over the last year from 6’0s and below performance fishy types these are my two go too’s now Both 7,2. and same dims - Vouch Evo single for cruisier smaller days and the Simon Jones Massive channel twin for anything over 3 ft. The Massive is bloody fast but surfs as...

Re: Midlengths
JaM71, these are my "Bonzers" on the Wombat. They work pretty well. https://i.ibb.co/k8vJGp6/IMG-20191223-140256.jpg As I said elsewhere, the Campbell Bros should develop and market a bonzer fin for 2+1s, as there's only the 2 side fins (which need another box) or the glass-on available. Nice! And ...

Re: Midlengths
Hard to tell in that pic Cranked. Is there can't in the side fins? I ponied up and bought the 4 fin side runners fcs bonzer set $159. Use the larger ones in a 2+1 application and the smaller ones in the rear quad plugs with twin fins. How's the 7'6" salient go? The guys I know at surfboard warehous...

Re: Midlengths
I've owned 2+1 NPJs and some other 2+1s. I also own quite a few CB bonzers. From my experience - bonzers are far better boards, but of course, this is a matter of opinion and dependent on where you surf and how you surf. My 6'0 2+1 only worked in decent waves and lacked drive in comparison to any o...

Re: Midlengths
Cuttlefish put me onto bonzer sides a few years ago, I agree that they improve any 2 plus 1 set up (provided that you have the right single fin). Agree with you Toots, I have a thick Lizzy which has deeper concaves and Ryan Lovelace recommends the smaller FCS bonzer sides but with a larger centre fi...

Re: Midlengths
Hey thud, yep got the 6'10 and had a surf on it (I have had the 8-oh a while) The 6'10 feels very refined under the arm, lovely rails but the tail is wider than I expected. Wider than the 8-oh, I should compare the dims, I can't remember the dims on either of them but the 8-oh is more pulled in and ...
