Re: Bonzers
Had a 6'8" MC 5 fin egg that was ridden to bits, always wanted another one but he rarely comes over to the UK now. That board could well be a OBQ

Re: A month Camping with the famalam East Coast - January
Good shout. Never been to North Straddie, that could be on the list for sure... I'll price up the 4wd options as I think I can shift deposit around.
Spotted a good national park campsite between Yamba and Angourie... Ilharra, I think. Pretty sure we could fit that in.

Re: Midlengths
Lucky you Moore! How did you get your hands on a Josh Hall? Your 6'8 sounds exactly what I am thinking of, You have made me think maybe I should get futures so I can use keels or Aipas hmmmmm I was lucky as a friend sold it on to me TBH, but he had it shaped in France which is an annual visit for J...

Re: Midlengths
I’ve read somewhere you need to ride them off the tail to get the benefits Yes that holds true for mine. It's also nice just using that trim to hold speed between turns, rather than constantly going from rail to rail to stop bogging. Up front for speed, then shift back foot for turns. Shortboard bo...

Re: Midlengths
Just throwing a positive comment for my long fish too... I've got a 6'8" Josh Hall 'Piseas', which is a slightly tweaked long fish - main difference is high aspect fins like a twinnie, rather than keels. Goes great in almost anything waist height to a fair bit overhead. Even goes good in sucky beach...

The opposite for me as I'm in the UK! Good point though....crustt wrote:September, much better after a long cold winter, and you get home and the weather is on the up. If you go July, you get back in August to be confronted by the depth of winter.

Bali - July or September?
Short and sweet question really! I have the opportunity to do either (but not both) for a couple of weeks later this year, either in July or September, down on the Bukit. I don't have the option of going anywhere else in Indo (or the world, for that matter). Been a very very long time since I spent ...

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot
So, I was actually going to sell the 5'10 zot that I recently picked up as I couldn't really afford to buy it in the first place, but I've subsequently given in to temptation and rode it for half an hour in some waisthigh beachbreak summertime mush.... That McCoy smoothness is there, for sure, and i...

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot
Wish I could tell ya how it goes, but we are under the influence of the 'Azores High' here in northern Europe - a weather pattern that comes round every several years that means the temps rise and the Atlantic goes to sleep.... Everyone loves it as it's 27-28deg C every day, but it is F-L-A-T as a W...

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
I'll ask again... Has anyone got any experience with Triple-X? Australian company. Sale price of $325 for the top-of-the-line steamer. Surely, if you're looking beyond the main players you'd consider a product from a local company. http://forum.realsurf.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13455 :?: Thanks bu...
