I saw a wave when I was fishing once, and waited 17 years for the right conditions to surf it. As far as I know it only broke twice in that time and I was unable to get there both times. Took 36 hours travel, much of it unpleasant. Caught 3 waves, just started to suss the place out, and a school of ...

The Access models are based on the UK Met model but tweaked quite a lot for our region.

Euro, UK and Canadian models are all objectively better than GFS.

The power in a swell is proportional to the period and the square of the wave height. In deep water only.

I surfed last weekend and there were still blokes surfing shirtless in boardies.
Tbf they didn't look very comfortable.

I surfed yesterday lunchtime, it was a bit lumpy and full I surfed like a person having their third surf on a shortboard in 2 years, but I had a peak to myself and the shoreline was undeveloped and it made me happy.

My mum gave a pretty great summary of the pool when I showed her that first clip Kelly posted.
Her commentary was as follows.
"Wow, he's a good surfer. Looks cold. Nothing much happens. It's very muddy. He's probably going to get an ear infection."

Regarding the rest of your comment, it seems like Toledo spends more time trimming in the upper third of the wave than most of the others.
