Funnily enough I was having a rave over there this morning. Mens Shed is definitely on the cards for retirement. I actually enjoy using tools.
Plenty of tools on Realsurf.

Re: Midlengths

Had a session at north cronulla yesterday. Very busy 2ft max on the sets. The 8” single is perfect for it. Going to get a 2+1 set up. Thinking about the shapers 6” 2+1 set up. Not bag value at $150. If was super crowded... haven’t had a collision in a while. Had 2 yesterday. Nose chipped on my new ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

From the age of 8 until 16 I played rugby league and union at school and on weekends. I was ok at it, enough to get selected in the St. George rep team, but when I discovered surfing I was hooked. I remember playing a guy from Saints as a kid. He wore those tight hibiscus panelled Quickies as footy...

Yeah. Ti Tree is pretty tame, except sometimes a hairy takeoff.

Re: biggest wave ever U ever surfed?

It's probably true that the older you get, the bigger the waves you once rode get. As a teenager, double overhead at Kirra, pre any groynes was probably about my limit. And in the Jan '67 cyclone I surfed triple overhead Crescent. But they weren't scary. Just massive long walls, peaking easily with ...

Re: Summer

How big was Nationals Trev? And crowd. It's 3ft here and looking pretty weak and windy. Not super big Steve. 3 to 4 ft. Some serious overhead ones being picked up out past the jump off slab. But a long wait for those sets. Tide buried it about 8 o'clock. Back by 9 though. There's a serious sand slu...

Re: Summer

There could be some serious erosion up here looking around my local this morning. Super high tide, shortish period, Easterly sets and a serious South to North sweep in close.

Might drive to that over popular northern point tomorrow and see if I can get a park.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Speaking of which.....I don't get how people feel comfortable surfing in those bucket surf hats. I've got one and it's really handy for being on boats or other water related activities but shite to surf in. I've got an O&E cap that's pretty great. Short brim that doesn't wipe all the zinc off your ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Has anyone here surfed the rare left that breaks inside the Southport seaway? Remember seeing a clip of it on brownies coastwatch early 90’s at double overhead. Big yawning barrels. Might find it in here. http://www.coastwatch.com.au/surf-videos Brownie would be willing to sell Coastwatch at the ri...
