Re: Where did you surf today ?

Bit slow for the dawny but some good ones when they came.

Got hold of one set wave and my son reckoned it was the biggest spray he'd ever seen from my turns.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

it's fun for kids and kooks and as a one off laugh for serious surfers.

Same as Melbourne.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

tbh I'd much rather a weekend on North Straddy than 2hrs in the tub.

Would be cheaper too.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

No one cares anymore about surfing wavepools- it's not editorial.

And no way Ubrnsurf would cover my trip as advertorial.

When are you going Iggs?

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Yeah, thats the only way it makes sense.

Or we catch the Jetstar in the morning, come home on the arvo flight, take a packed lunch and I don't surf it.

That's probably a $500-600/day.

You gonna venture down to test Steve ?
I was planning on it Iggs.

Son is super keen- to be honest, the cost is a major deterrent now for something that looks smaller and weaker than Tullamarine.

Be over a thousand for both of us for a 2hr hit.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Gunna be interesting to see how it goes.

They need repeat custom.

$160/hr for barrels, $130/hr for advanced turns.

How many people will regularly drop $290 for 2 hrs of surfing?

That seems absolutely nutty to me.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

100% smaller than Melbourne, that barrel wave is not surfable backside.

Even our wavepool gets blocked by Ireland most of the time
The one that went broke?

Or the one that runs on beginner settings 99% of the time?

Re: Just general surfing stuff

to be fair, I never surfed Porthleven- it was flat or howling onshore when I was there. I did most of my surfing at Putsborough- a kind of weird, jangled, semi but not really point break. Or the vastly overrated Croyde. I did manage to rattle off a few close-out reos per session.\ I noticed UK surfe...

Yeh and isn’t that spot (Porthleven) always packed because it’s the only a-grade wave around?
Nice set-up, breaks once a blue moon.

Problem for English surf is Ireland, which blocks most of the swell.

Unless you have a certain storm track, which brings fcuked winds.

it's tidak bagus.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Flawless barrels where I surfed.

probably got one of the best backside tube rides in my life- so open and round and long.

Went back to my Pyzalien 2 with quad set-up.

Damn it felt good.
