Thanks Nick,
The low that's just formed off Guam is predicted to intensify and follow the same path as the current typhoon Phanfone which would be moving across Japan the same time im there.
I'll have another look in about a week.

Re: North Shore Hawaii
Thanks I'll have a look over there. I basically want to know if typhoons off Japan have any significant impact on the north shore swells. Im thinking if it degraded into a massive low and tracked across the north pacific it might produce some decent swell on the north shore as it would be uninterupt...

Re: North Shore Hawaii
There seems to be another intense low forming off Guam.
It's forecast to follow the same path as Typhoon Phanfone which is freaking enormous.
Thoughts Shearer?
Surely this is a good scenario with Phanfone to track across the north pacific as a powerful low?

Re: North Shore Hawaii
I'm noticing increasing storm activity around the Phillipines and Japan. Is this the changing of the season coming?
Typhoon Phanfone in particular. It looks like it's intensifying.

North Shore Hawaii
I'm going to Hawaii for two weeks in about a month and am hoping for an early winter swell. I'm hoping to get some input from anyone who's good with swell forecasting and would appreciate the input. So far I've noticed there is a re-developing storm off Russia that could turn into something but I'm ...

Re: Surfing in Hawaii
Is there a good surf cam for pipe anywhere on the net?
I tried surfline but I think you have to pay for it. I'll pay if it's not too expensive, but is there a free one?
I found one free cam but it's a pretty bad angle.

Re: Surfing in Hawaii
Otoway it's not about bragging rights at all, hence why I'm asking if it's "worth it". Would you surf somewhere and get your head smacked in for bragging rights? Or take a drop on a wave that was multiple times heavier than anything you'd ever done just to say you did it? If it were about bragging r...

Re: Surfing in Hawaii
There's a sand bar break just near pipe that looks good called Ehukai. Hollow, fast 50m - 150m long rights and lefts. Starts working at about 4ft. Can be pretty crowded though. Also a quick question on pipeline. If it's small, say 4ft, I'd like to have a crack at it but what are my chances given the...

Re: Surfing in Hawaii
I'll tell you a true story Loofy. I was watching a doco on shark attacks where a woman went swimming in a cove that used to be used by a nearby abotoir to dump offcuts, bone, blood etc. To put it in a nutshell, 5 years after the abotoir closed the cove was still infested with sharks. The woman jumpe...

Surfing in Hawaii
I'm going to Hawaii in October, staying at Waikiki and just wondering if anyone knows of some good surf spots?
My limit is about 5ft
Also are there any particularly sharky areas I should know about?
Thanks

Re: Remote car keys
Ok got it sorted.
Lock it with the remote from inside car then go outside and lock it manually. That way the hatch door locks.
I'm open to more ideas though.

Re: Remote car keys
Thanks fellas, I was going to just get one city to unlock the door but when I lock it manually like that, the central locking doesn't kick in, therefore the rear hatch door doesn't lock and there is no keyhole for it.
So I can't lock the remote key inside the car.

Remote car keys
Just wondering what's the best way to hide remote car keys (with a battery)that obviously can't get wet in your leggie. Is there any type of plastic seal you can put them in and then put em in your pocket or leggie? I've always had just straight keys till now. Any tips for concealing them elsewhere?...

Re: 10 sharkiest waves In Aus
I surfed at Kings beach one day and had a very small shark chase me onto a few waves. I got sick of surfing there so went around the corner to currimundi and nearly stood on the biggest eastern brown snake I've ever seen. It was about 6ft long and dead still in the sand. I was too busy looking at th...
