Re: Neal Purchase Jnr Quartet

Great review. Comprehensive and good to read the comparos with other Npj's and the cv2. JaM71 and I called into the Sunhouse a while back and their was an NPJ jr personal duo 7'er for sale. I told the guy there it was a shame that the quality of the glassing let the appeal of buying it used for $750...

Re: Gary McNeill

So I was talking to JaM71 about running the keels in the cv2 and he said when he had tried it with sea shepherds it was lacking some drive and somewhat vague (or thereabouts) and so I figured a set of nubsters in the rear quad boxes with my K2 keels (smaller than sea shepherds) would be the ticket. ...

Re: Gary McNeill

Btw anyone tried riding their cv2 with keels in it? Design brief does say twin or quad on the website but keels could be a different kettle of fish. i've been keen to try this - but i don't want to spend $150 on a pair of keels...maybe spend $1000 and get a mackie sidecut fish instead. Or you could...

Re: Gary McNeill

I'm sure they would be fantastic however do you think "bigging up" smaller board deigns work? I've now taken my 6'6" cv2 for its maiden run in 4-5' point waves and I've had my 7'2" cv2 which has a huge amount of foam in it out in the same and slightly larger waves and I can say the answer is "yes."...

Re: Ebay Bargains thread

Not on gumtree but went into the Sunhouse at Coolangatta a couple of days ago and they had one of NPJ jr's personal duos for sale. Looked okay on the bottom but geez the deck was dented all to shit and sinking either side of the stringer in the tail. They still wanted $700 for it. JaM71 and I went a...

Re: Midlengths

The 6'8" outer is good. It's just that my 7'2" cv2 is that good I ordered a 6'6" cv2 which should be ready in a week or two.
Thinking I will leave my outer island at JAm71's place on the Goldie so I can ride it when I'm down there.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Watched one of those outriggers run down a guy at Moffs one day. He bailed but the canoe went between him and his board, hooked up his leggie and dragged him the best part of 50 metres, by his leg. So he was being dragged backwards. Don't know how he didn't drown. Smashed a great hole in his board ...

Re: bonzers.....the quad fad is over

WSL style boards and WSL style surfing in thelatter Mex clip.
Bonzer board and non-WSL style surfing in the other Mex clip.
I relate to the non-WSL style more since its more for visualisation and thinking yep, I can do that turn right there on my boards and its going to feel goooood!
