Re: Just general surfing stuff

I can't imagine surfing on the Gold Coast on a regular basis for the above reasons.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I've chatted to a bunch of Irish or Poms who are mostly beginners. One bloke said, "I just bought this board yesterday." "What is it?", I asked. "A JS Blak Box". He'd been surfing for 6 months. Tell you what, though, for 6 months, he went okay. One was from Bondi. I reckon there's a bunch driving d...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Two surfs today. Second one was far more successful with smaller crowds and a change of equipment.

About the same at Bronte, Tama and Bondi with about the same number out. Not me if you were asking.

Re: Midlengths

I must say Trev I was usually looking elsewhere when big easterly swells were rolling into that neck of the woods. So, missed seeing it ever break.

Groups of kids get taken out there for lessons every time a hint of a ripple hits the bank.
I think you'll be ok out there.
An old school mate used to surf there when he parents took him down there. Always looked like a fun novelty wave.

I've surfed inside the Tweed up from Fingal a few times.

Re: Ebay Bargains thread

Well, it makes it odd they would sell it for that. Nice looking board. I've got a 7'6" Wayne Lynch gun that I probably won't ride so a board like that would just be another collectors item.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Had a bash at Bronte. Mainly dodging close outs. Saw some very nice waves though. Managed to get one in.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Yep, Bronte is a pretty solid club. General surfing standard is pretty high. There's actually a lot more grommets surfing there and at Bondi these days. Ten years ago there was a real tendency to ride lids.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Was the east component in the swell due to some type of refraction around your local reefs? Nulla was about as directional south as ever God it was pathetic here, just about the worst example of straight south swell you could imagine. Bronte was looking good this arvo. Junior said it was pretty goo...
