Re: Twin fins as go-to boards

Digger, reading this article gives some good thoughts on having channels in a twinny. Not sure about the length of the board he is spruking though (7'10), I think the same shape in a 5'10 to 6'0 would be pretty fun. http://www.swellnet.com/news/swellnet-dispatch/2017/03/13/lifting-lid-big-wave-twins...

Re: Favourite type of surf?

The waves that I really enjoy are those that have a wedge to them that you can backdoor the section from the takeoff and get lots of speed.
Waves like Mystics, Rebounds (tassie), Iluka breakwall and even off the wall at dbah at times.

Re: Where did you not surf because of sharks? (including the ones in your head)

I usually try and get a wave at snapper on the full moon but I think I might put that on ice till things settle down a bit. Has anyone done a DIY job of putting the black stripes on the bottom of their board like this or is that an instant TOTY nomination? I have a can of black spray paint in the ga...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I don't think the banks fared to badly actually. I took a few screen grabs from one of the cams that shows the banks before and after the storm. I tried to get them all around about low tide. 18th http://i59.tinypic.com/2ajtmj4.jpg 19th http://i61.tinypic.com/2qi4adh.jpg 23rd http://i58.tinypic.com/...

Re: Board advice for grom

I got my young bloke one of these http://www.firewiresurfboards.com/surfb ... d=gromflex when he turned 10. I went with the 5'0.
He hasnt had any problems with it being too small. He can paddle it and duckdive.
When its real small and fat he jumps back onto an old single fin.

Re: Get this!

Looks like I'm the only sucker who paid for the fin! :D Ha! Not the only one Mik. I got one, but I have a feeling that I am not meant to use it. I managed to tweak my knee after it arrived so I sent it to Shearer while I was recovering. Now I have it back and the waves are missing. Looking forward ...

is access to the beach open to anyone to drive on or is it only the professional fishermen like up this way?

Re: Rocking the BLEF

Fong (or anyone else for that matter), I have one you want to take it for a surf. I have only had a few surfs on it and not sure I have noticed any major improvements. Definately no negative effects tho. I have got myself another board to test it on which should give a better idea. anyway if you wan...

Re: JBay.

I agree with fongss ^.
Did the fact they threw Curren a 10 in the heat before for a similar wave influence them?
Wilko's wave was way better in my opinion and if they had use of the skis out there it might have been a different result.
