Re: Midlengths

Ok. I ride, fishes and HPSBs a bit (70-80%) My personal take is the blown up hybrids with slabby rockers are the biggest con in surfing. I can turn a nicely curved longer board much easier and smoother than the hybrids. However, it’s a personal thing. Oh yeah then there’s the paddle fitness thing, f...

Forget litres, just get around a 7’6 with a bit of foam out to the rails.
Yep. Or even 8ft. Flat entry into medium rocker.

Try and find an old Mctavish Carver (or new) or board with similar design features is my take. He still produces them so there would be a description on line.

What have you been riding lately?
Hi mate,

I can use the CI mid in 1-2 pretty easily. It has a smallish fin set up for a board that size and seems to turn easily in small waves. That or a slabby fish thing I have lying around.

Re: Midlengths

Same. I was using larger upright 4 sides but grabbed smaller raked sides and freed the back up somewhat. Pushed the single up as well

Re: Midlengths

Yes. Like riding on air. But have replaced 7 inch single with 6 1/2 raked and smaller sides. Much better. Works best in 4ft to 2ft.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Still a few bigger ones in the middle here. Its a quick closey wave is the old Avoca beachy. I surfed DY for the first time in ages last week at say 4ft, it was cruisey in comparison.
