Re: Just general surfing stuff

I've heard great things about Aceh. A couple of seasoned surfers I know head there regularly and I believe this time of year can be really good there.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Bloody awesome NC. I'd never have known that surfboard move (with a non conscious person).

Might need to practise it a few times

2-3 foot garie. A bit lumpy and wind affected but a reasonable righthand peak holding up
The south facing beach further south was similar, had these really nice looking sets that felt as if they would send you reeling but were in fact as fat as a ham.

Re: Ears

Ok, could someone tell me whether the temperature of the wind makes a difference?

Say for example these cold water upwellings with a nor'easter. Cold water in the ears, warm wind. I presume that any wind on your water filled ear is a problem?

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Here, maybe this will help some of you, part one of a series https://www.coastalwatch.com/surfing/25305/surf-safety-series-episode-one-fact-fiction I enjoyed the second episode Nick. I'm genuinely surprised that dodgy dings are an issue! Who the hell would go out on a board with ragged fibreglass s...

Re: Ears

Shithouse Ricky G. Yeah it is horrible when you can't hear properly, very frustrating. I heard a tale recently about a man who was involved in an accident in India which had him in an Indian hospital where he picked up a stomach worm. A few months after that, he was rock climbing in Oz and ended up ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

BD, we got the Island a couple of times in the Thursday and Friday. Been years since I've been out there.

So much fun but what a fcukin circus! Maladjusted Malibu riders and SUP nightmares.

Good to hear you got it to yourself.

Re: Ears

Yeah, they aren't supposed to eliminate all water just stop surges. I always thought it was kind of obvious my right ear was worse since I grew up getting whacked in the ear by a variety of North Coast Point Breaks. The perforated ones allow you to hear quite well. Ok gotcha. So, in warm water eg H...

Re: Ears

Ah ok. So if these plugs are letting in a bit of water, but protect from wind they may be ok.
