Re: Midlengths

The 6'10 Wombat has really come into its own in small waist high conditions. Had a great afternoon yesterday, there was just three of us, the other two on 8' longboards. Wave after wave, super fun - great glide and acceleration. Ditto this morning. Two days ago I was dropping into some double overh...

Change the flight to a 7pm, and drop by the pool. Perhaps not a 7 degree winter afternoon in Melbourne though.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

I’ve said it before Nick, you’re definition of fun and the general definition that everyone else on Realsurf uses are two different things.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Yep. Some serious courage from these guys attacking the lip on solid waves. Decent beatings when they screw up.

Re: Bonzers

Have a 6’4” Mini Merk bonzer I bought from Loof. Love it, it’s a forever board. Plenty of younger guys would hate it I think as there is plenty that it can’t do but for my style of surfing it is great. Rode one for a while in the 90’s. It was an ex pro board of Mitch Thorson and it was great. Stupid...

Re: Midlengths

Ah, the shark box wasn’t on Insta.

The channel bottom is great, so much speed and control when the waves have a bit of push.

Re: Midlengths

Thanks Thud. I just got back from my first ride of the 6'4 Bonzer Biscuit. Waist to head high, perfect conditions. Wow, what a board! It was effortlessly fast, but still turned on a dime. WTF? How can it do both those things? It paddles well, duck dives ok. I want a complete quiver of them: 6'4, 6'...

Were there many parking spots? Asking for a humoon People will come just for the parking. The Urbn surf car park is huge - also its on the edge of an airport/industrial zone with plenty of street parking to absorb overflow. So you could drive down from Sydney for a morning surf if you liked driving...

Re: Midlengths

After selling off a couple of boards I’ve got more than enough cash to just go drop it on a stock 7’0 freeflight single six channel. If I’m after something around the 7”0 mark that’ll eat 6-8 foot anyway, so it could be very thing. Besides, I’m more than comfortable on a straight single without the...

1mm full suit, no stitching, hand-blown Japanese neoprene, price A$999.00

I'm testing it.
Isn't 1mm rashie thickness?

Surely neoprene that thin would be susceptible to tearing?

I'm curious how many of you refer to a barrel as "a vision" like moronic Joe Turpel.

"Jordy's going to get a vision"

Never.

And never called a turn 'a dropped wallet' either.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Anyone have a board recommendarion for kids? Son has a foamie that's been good for him to learn to stand on but you can't turn the thing. He can stand after catching the whitewater and once it reforms he has a skate tic tac style but given the volume and rails it only goes in one direction. Any thou...
