I am only 70-72kg but in my advancing years just prefer larger fins to drive off. I find elevons just as manouverable as any other fin maybe just not as capable of going vertical but that's because you re going so frickin fast. They really are noticibly quicker which helps in beachies that are semi close outs. Found this little thread on Google http://www.firewiresurfboards.com/f/for ... experience

Design brief does say twin or quad on the website but keels could be a different kettle of fish.
i've been keen to try this - but i don't want to spend $150 on a pair of keels...maybe spend $1000 and get a mackie sidecut fish instead.
Or you could spend only $69.95

i've seen those - what do you reckon - legit foil etc?
i have a pair that look good
about to put them in a twin keel next week
cool - let us know how they go. I'm keen to try some!

Awesome session on the tt this morning. Those rasta keels were flying.

Best session I have had on it, man and board beating with the same heart.

I have surfed three different boards this week Iggy and on their day they have all been the one.

Like a Master Sommelier, I matched my boards to the conditions perfectly.

surfed my big ol' single they day before last. clean two foot walled up conditions and it was great, trim, highline, cutback etc.

y'day not so, good bank with a nice bowl, but it was very washy and windy and a bit stop-start, and as a result the board felt like it was dragging. would've been better off on the twinny.

how's the DVS going ?

I surfed my 8ft single yesterday in the morning... 2ft glass... perfect choice - got some nice reforms grinding on the inside.

Lol, I never bought that DVS. Wish I had of, for $200 that was a steal.

When I first got out this morning it was a bit all over the place and then about 8-8.30 the tide was just perfect, it glassed off and pulsed for about 40 mins. I surfed a bank with three other blokes and got some beautiful 3ft lefts. Real nice long speed runs, waves that will keep me stoked for days.

Sometimes it all just aligns. :-D-:

The question is what boards are you dialling in for Autumn when it starts to get a little juicy (4ft plus 15 second period on wedgy banks)

Reckon the TT is the goods?

Prob 6'2 CV2, 6'4 merk or 6'7 russ short.

TT could be ok, those keel fins got some hold, but would need to be on my game and get it on rail straight away. Doubt I would use it though, need boards that make it easier, not harder.

Good paddler, takes decent drops well. I feel pretty confident on it. Would love to take it to some really good walled up waves.

Just came to post this. Green has since found a new home but the black twin is killer.
