My feeling is that Cronulla is underrated. I think it may be the best area to surf in Sydney.
It is. No question.

That was my feeling, but I had not put in enough surfing elsewhere in Sydney to make a call. I mainly surfed the Cronulla breaks (and National Park) and the breaks around Bendalong (I had a caravan there for about 6 years), with only odd trips to the North coast or to the other breaks around Sydney.

So Cranky what prompted your purchase of property at Sawtell given your preference for the south?

Its wet and cold a lot of the time down south and I think the north coast has a better climate and surf. I was kinda hoping to move there (north coast) as we have a lot of old friends there, but my wife doesn't want to, and we want to be where our son lives.

But really, the surf is very inconsistent when compared to the Bukit

Most places are. There's quite a lot of good set ups around there but as usual the fickle swell conditions predominate.

Can’t quite get my head around sawtell being a more consistent spot with better surf than the south coast.

Mostly beach breaks vs hugely varied coastline of beaches, coves, reefs and points that can accomodate all types of swells, size, wind and swell directions.

???

fcuk iggy, the south coast has got nothing. Just one long close-out. Everyone should go north. It's consistent, warm and they have free goats.

Caio Ibelli apparently copping a barrage of threats from Medina fans.

Wankers haha
While I agree the call seems wrong, if the situation was reversed would Medina say, nah you take the win Caio?
I don’t think so.

It's fcuking imbecilic behaviour. Gabriel oughta pull 'em up. I hope he didn't encourage it in the hope it would influence the WSL.

Well, he posted his protest on Instagram to 8m followers and was apparently shared again by his mate neymar with 127m followers so can’t see any other reason than him wanting the public to influence the decision.

I like him as well

Say as opposed to someone like Jack Freestone who is an adequately good surfer but gets tons of spin.
