Basically, they see a bit of a boom coming with the Olympics, wavepools and more surfing interest in Asia. Plus, DHD have bought Modom, a softboard and surf accessory business. I think the money is to tool up production capacity and invest in product development and marketing in epoxy boards, softboards, boards designed for wavepools, clothing and surf accessories.

I won't, but I could imagine throwing in $250 for a bit of fun. I imagine there are plenty of better investments from a purely money perspective.

He'd make more selling board shorts and t shirts surely. Don't care either way though.

I guess he didn’t realize that the people who most appreciate his product are the least likely to invest.

Don't understand why they don't just make a decent midlength that works well for 80-90% of surfers.

IMHO the 7'-8' McTavish Carvers are as good as you can get.

This is correct, Cranky. I ride mine very regularly and I also have a Carver Fish which performs similarly well in slightly more critical conditions. 7'11" and 7' respectively.

Keala Kennelly, the first woman invited into the Eddie Aikau, with Paige Alms listed as an alternate.
It's a nice photo.

Pipe forecast still looking pretty good. Opening day swell solid NW, maybe shifting a bit north in a hurry, then a high quality 6-8' plus very W swell around 12/13, then a followup around the 17th.

Looking at the webcast, some of the clean up sets look pretty intense.
