Re: Where did you surf today ?
I've consulted with my medical team - the Brazillian lady next door, a surfing mate and the matriarch of the clan where I'm staying - and the verdict is that I can resume surfing tomorrow!

And what a day to start: double overhead, perfect swell direction, light offshores and no crowds (WAM 4.1 now forecasts crowd size)

Go, Cranky.

In the water at first light today. One other guy out.
Magnificent sunrise over the cliffs, inky black clouds, yellow orange light, light rain falling.
A big turtle popped up between us and looked us over, a huge ray breached, looking like Dracula or a giant bat.
I paddled in after nearly an hour. No waves ridden - great morning

About waist high, but it needs an offshore and bigger swell to work.
When there's no one out you don't have where people are sitting to gauge the swell size.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
If only there was some sort of measurement of wave energy you could use as a gauge.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
I love it when I pull up to check the surf and it's knee high and the pack is 300m further out from where the waves are breaking waiting patiently

Ditto, so ,many of those sessions a few weeks ago on this cracking bank, 80% of the blokes waiting for the sets of 3 which came every 20 mins. Inside ones walled up down the bank

Crabmeats penis is the new standard that I'm working on. This one has real potential. We're looking to roll it out later this year, it's currently in advanced testing in Thailand and other significant locations.
Shearer is trialing it as we speak. This is gonna be big!

Maybe volts or watts or ohms?
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Guilty as charged

Super fun head-high peaks at Curly. Really weird, warbly but heaving and very consistent. Best waves I’ve had at Curly in years. Bugger all people to start with but word obviously got out.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Sounds like you did ok. Maroubra, chest to head high and clean. But a wobbly fat and slow swell. Lumpy and hard to get any drive out of it. Super crowded.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Apparently there’s a couple of spots on the NB’s that are pumping. With crowds to match. Swellnet’s put the word out.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Surfed Curly yesterday and was surprised at the pace of the waves once up and running
