Re: Where did you surf today ?
it's a funky time of year, late winter into spring. Nothing amazing but a lot of variety if you can pounce on wind changes.
slept in a bit this morning and hit the rocks at 5.45. Dead. Surfed this hollow, little zippy right. Head high on the sets. One guy out.
Photo makes it look a bit better than it was, but it was fun.

/\ that Looks ok. I waited for close to five mins to get a decent photo, but even the ones that looked alright with a walled up section simply shut down a couple seconds later. All too jumbled

I would contribute more if it wasn't a public threadHatchnam wrote: It's good to see this thread coming to life more of recent btw.

One guy out. This time of the year. You guys have nads the size of medcine balls.steve shearer wrote:it's a funky time of year, late winter into spring. Nothing amazing but a lot of variety if you can pounce on wind changes.

Very interesting. I grew up on the hill behind there from 1956 to 1965. Absolutely NEVER any worthwhile breaks. The sandbar was just continuous with narrow channels to let the water out but nothing to form any kind of peaks.jimmy wrote:I had an insane surf yesterday at two gun city. Was a bit Lully but when they came through they were breaking like the very best reef breaks. I was on a left near the surf club that was doing a pretty fine impression of Bingin. But there was 3 guys out getting the good ones. If I was in Sydney there would've been 20 guys at least.Braithy wrote:saltman wrote:Very similar to out front of home today - though not as shapely as your place
Beautiful glass of this afternoon - but still a little too straight
It was peeling at my place. One bank is doing an insane impression of trestles.
Might be back to micro log waves tomorrow.
From what others have said in recent years, obviously the sand pumping and Kirra Groynes have had a dramatic effect on the place.
Good news though. It spreads the surfers out a bit I guess.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Just had a fun little longboard sesh with the wifey. She was keen for a paddle.
It had really pulsed on the incoming tide, well overhead.
Point was looking really fun, as were all the beachies.
Wrong tool, would've been better on a shortboard but it was still fun cruising and joining the dots on a mal.

Yeah the incoming tide has just pulsed all week up here.
I've seen and been in so many good waves. Feels like I've just done a trip to Indo. Haha

DY today, meh
Re: Where did you surf today ?
I had nice surf this morning on the incoming. Washed away the hangover and after an hour I was really getting into it until the reheated curry that I had late last night started to work its magic. a satisfying fart worked its way down and I prepared to let it go before realising a little too late that it wasn't wind and quickly put it in reverse. There's quite a bit of pain associated with holding a grog bog in after you inadvertently let it go.
I paddled in and walked up the beach like Braithy after he's run 5kms free balling in jeans.
I thought I'd make it home but after bending over to pull my suit off I realised that the situation was dire.
Realising that the closest dunny was at 19th ave 7/11 and Maccas I drove there in a hurry. Just made it and sprayed the bowl with all sorts of faecal matter. Someone came in whilst I was unloading and I apologised from the cubicle. I suspect that it was one of the Indian guys from the 7/11 because when I left they gave me a knowing grin.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
From what I can deduce, a true queenslander would have shat himself and kept surfing for another hour
Re: Where did you surf today ?
That may be true but I have to report the only time I've ever seem someone actually take a dump in the surf was at North Steyne (that's Sydney, NSW), goddy.godsavethequeen wrote:From what I can deduce, a true queenslander would have shat himself and kept surfing for another hour
This Pommie backpacker paddled out complete with backpack (containing several cans). First light, drinking from a can and he slid off the side of his board, pulled down his shorts and let go a massive floater. Pissed as a fart, all "hi there, guys", in a Pommie accent. When he finished his beer and threw the can away, a group of us "suggested" he go in.

speaking of which, where's Iggs gone?
He's been mighty quiet since his flagship idea to log sessions to show how much more quality surf time a Sydney Cube Monkey got over a north coast bohemian and goldy surfers was launched.
