Re: Where did you surf today ?
15 minutes in boardshorts at kings beach after work.
kneehigh righthanders peeling back towards the pool.
the kind of semimarginal where a made wave is not just the icing, but the whole cake.
ate it up, then defrosted fingers.

spring sure is here...two foot blown out crap, flags up, 15 people sitting on bronte reef. at least i managed to catch one in and didn't have to do the paddle of shame.
the wave in felt so damn good after two weeks out of the water that i was tempted to go back out again , but for once resisted the urge.

No bogangar is a hoax point. Was down there on the weekend for a captain cook and it was 3 foot on the sets and blokes on 9 foot planks could barely get on them.
Where are all the whites coming from? Chasing the new humpback calves?

Not a new phenomena...GWS sightings have been increasingly common through spring in recent years as humpbacks increase in numbers. Good reason to eschew spring gurgle in favor of the humble flathead.

Maroubra. Just south of the stormy. Clean and peaky, but a bit weak and stifled. Took the 6'2 webber slx epoxy HPS out. Bit hard to scratch into waves on some. But managed to get in some cracking backhand belts and forehand cutties that I felt happy with. Feels a bit "squirrelly" and reactive but easy enough to control (overcome rather), but on bowlier pockety sections of the wave it seemed to hold its line pretty tidy.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Piss weak Curly. Should have taken a board with more girth like a quad fish with some under the chest. School boy error.

Checked from Duranbah dow to Ballina, average at best ended up heading out just north of Ballina banks are pretty shot, good to get some waves after a few weeks out of the water. Southerly killed it.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Drove a boat around for four hours looking for the right wave, ended up surfing a pretty good 6' right and a flawless 3'+ left
snapped a board on the right duck diving a freak 8' set. sign me up for the tard thread.
the surfing standard up here is pretty shit but surfed with a really good surfer yesterday, older guy, non hipster beard, nice pintail, calm in the lineup and a lovely post 70s tube stall rail turning style. I really like watching people who've put their surfing together well.

NW of the Mentawais
Checked Lagundri Bay on our way down a few days ago, it was 4-6' and there were 50 guys out, most of whom were Brazilians giving each other a bad name
It's like some of these spots are beautiful gardens infested with weeds.
