i guess it's like that in boxing and the martial arts as well. but not many other sports put fear on display as much do they.

Damn, poor Filipe! I really feel for that guy. He"s cross-eyed like me. We cross-eyed guys gotta stick together! Illawarra Scholastics, 1984, Sandon Point: the Point was pumping. And I didn't even catch a wave in my heat. Filipe, I'm with you in spirit.

I was in a contest at Phillip Island when I didn’t catch a wave in my heat. Mainly because it took me most of the heat to make it out the back.
Made it back in just as the next heat ended
Still didn’t come last lol

Yes they do but "duty of care" comes into it these days.
Look at the HIA rule in NRL.
And ongoing upgrades of safety features in F1 and all levels of motor sport.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Nobody has ever died during a professional surfing contest.

Indeed the list of serious injuries in competition is pretty small.

People get badly hurt and occasionally die while surfing, but not during competition.

If thats the case. there certainly needs to be an investigation.

This issue really does need to investigated and hashed out. I say we form a committee and nominate Yuke Hunt to chair!
