Well I’m calling if Godsave paddled out into a lineup crowded with elite professional surfers he wouldn’t catch a wave because he would be totally awestruck. “Look! There’s Gabriel Medina! There’s JORDY SMITH! They’re all taller than I thought. Look at the stickers on Filipe Toledo’s board!”

Then after about an hour some idiot on the PA would start saying things like “The first heat will be underway in ten minutes, could all free surfers come back to the beach”, and Godsave would finally catch a wave and I would drop in on him. But he would have to suck it up because I would do that smiley hey-fellow-well-met-look-at-us-we’re-on-the-same-wave thing, and he would be Disarmed.
