Super fun session by moonlight at 5.30 this morning at the only spot working in this swell round here. I got about 50* runners before the sun was up and the crowds began to descend.

*5, but used GsTQ scale for effect
Fkukk, I love the dawn patrol but jeez, there must’ve been stars still out!

Surely 30 waves per two hour session should be everyone’s benchmark, particularly when it’s only a couple of feet. Go have a look at how many the pros are catching at Keramas and you’ll see that 10+ in a thirty minute heat is not exactly uncommon. No wonder you all remain so persistently shit. I have mates who just sit there bobbing about, who catch maybe 5 waves per session on average and, yep, they’re shit

To tell the truth eggs are one thing I avoid buying when I’m grocery shopping. So you may say I’m an intermittent egg buyer who usually lets someone else buy them.

Ok, but surely there are days when the swell doesn't come in with 100+ waves an hour?! On the current acute long period south swell here the sets are breaking every 15-20 mins, sometimes only 1-3 waves a set. 5 good ones this am was positively gluttonous!

Is Wales off the hook when there's swell?

I’m mostly just trying to annoy steve, Wyre. But yeah, it’s not that it’s off the hook more that those really long period groundswells are pretty rare, what with our teensy tiny swell window. The sets, such as they were, the other morning were get one, paddle out, get one paddle out etc etc

Sounds like the perfect session. 5 surfers, constant sets and a couple of disco biscuits to keep it loose (if I'm reading that original post right) 👌

Hmm, ok so probably still improving (a bit) almost all of which can be put down to riding better boards and a bit down to fitness

My surfing is like a yo-yo dependent on stress and other physical activity.

Take out the peaks and troughs and I think the overall trend would be improving.
