Watching the back half of the slater qf just about finished me off. Turpel sticking to the fantasy line of 5 Bells, numbers man, legendary strategist, only needs a 9 and refusing to acknowledge the reality of Slater fiddling into irrelevance up at Rincon while his fearsome competitive reputation burned and burned. A lifetime achievement note is front and centre in all interviews with and about him and apart from Joe there don’t seem to be any true believers remaining. Even Pottz roused himself to have a dig or two. Be interesting to see how long slater can tolerate the indignity. Nice to see that JJF won though

Bells bowl looks boring, I bet Winki is smoking.
Winki was fcuk Ing magnificent. I went out to Bells early. An incredible set came through as I walked down the steps. Jaw dropping, all of 12’. The water was dark the way it gets around there after a real big swell has stirred shit up. Anyway I got out then they started kicking everyone out at like 5.45 am, I got one wave then went down to Winki on my scary 6’9 10 channel and well, whoopee. Got three legit barrels on one wave.

Just think they have been going down there all event and the one time it would have blown minds, they didn’t

Btw in my humble etc

If that 10 of CCs was a 10 I’ll kiss loofy

Italo will just have to suck that one up, it was totally his fault for playing a frantic hand without priority

Gabriel was underscored on his bomb, that first turn was balls out, but John still won the heat

It was a real good day, one the WSL needed, even if they don’t really understand why. Now we all know who’s gonna sort it out this year.

Nick, Owen not waxing his backup board, is that the least professional thing from a pro surfer?

Probably not as unprofessional as snorting loads of coke before Pipe and getting a brain injury (allegedly) but certainly up there.

I think he should fly Tyler around the world with him, chronic fatigue or not, so she can wax his boards for him.

Albury is bypassed. You've been around long enough to know that's a good thing and keep on driving.
