Hmmmm, big swell for Bells?

Surf forecast is calling 2000kJ at 10am, 4500kJ at 4pm, and peaking at 6000kJ (10') tomorrow at 7am but dropping off quickly.

I'm not familiar with Bells but on the Bukit that is a pretty average dry season forecast with a relatively short time above 4000kJ. Best described as an unremarkable small window of solid swell with adverse winds.
Provocation.
Yeah. Just a reaction to the hype that's been bandied around. I got up early looking forward to watching a great days surfing.

It was a bit like getting up and all kitted out for a surf without checking the forecast and finding it crap, then realising I should have looked at the forecast first and gone back to bed.

So how can those dweeby guys in the UK possibly predict the surf conditions on the other side of the planet eh?

that 2-minute rip curl add with the grating music ... has to be the worst add i've ever seen. after 30-seconds i find myself shoving butter knives into my ears to make it stop.

what are curl thinking?

Steve, a while ago you asked, essentially iirc, whether my injuries were overuse/age related and the answer is no, the rotator cuff tears are a result of the bike accident.

The spinal degenerations are however caused by age and use, but it seems that while they may cause problems later on, they are not implicated in my current problems.

This is from the the physio lady, I've yet to see the osteopath.

Much more common to have the opposite experience, as per Bells.

An over-hyped forecast that fails to deliver.

And yes, from people on the other side of the world looking at computer models with no local knowledge.

I have all day if you want to get into it again.

No need, just seeing if the forecast is right or wrong over the next 48 hours is sufficient. The proof of the pudding etc.

Both Magic Seaweed and Surf Forecast - based in UK/Europe- are calling Bells Beach 3stars right now, grading to 4 star later in the day.

So, if you woke up and checked the forecast- I'd say when you got to the beach you'd be disappointed.

I'd give that cross-onshore mess 1 or 2 stars.

I'd much rather back local knowledge- where people in the know have been saying for days the wind will make a mess of it.

surf forecast says WSW 35 kph (side off). 3 stars out of 10 about right. I'd surf it if I was desperate, ie. if I was a weekend surfer in Oz. I'd even surf it on the bukit, there'd probably only be 2 people out.

I thought the star rating was out of 5.

Pretty sure MSW is.

Godsave will confirm.

Still, it debunks the main plank of your argument. You should have reversed the logic.

Nah out of 10 for surf forecast. Bells gets 8 stars tomorrow around 7am. What are the locals saying?

You can see it live on the wsl site. Don't register - click skip or later at the bottom of the register box. And enable trackers and you can see it.
Speaking of trackers - their page is calling over a hundred external domains - they must have ads all over the net.

Same, via mobile.

Loofy's laptop is probably full of parrot-porn viruses.
