I've been having some great surfs the last few days in these slightly broken but still juicy conditions, really connecting with some different boards, noticing different things in waves, it always seems to happen as the light changes.

Had a body surf at Main Beach with the bro and son yesterday morning, pretty messy but plenty of energy in it. Another swim this morning at Burleigh, nice clean conditions, some good little waves coming through and not as crowded as I expected. Mal comp on, showing how it’s done. Super consistent swell.

Groan, should have gone out at Tama if I could have found a park. Looking forward to getting some waves out of town at Easter.

Yep, crazy times. Tama was pretty solid today. Still the occasional bomb this arvo when I went down for a swim at Bronte but the dredging close outs curbed the enthusiasm a bit. Saw a guy get a good peak through and then it detonated in about knee deep water. He got smashed.

Yesterday. Not me but I like the wake trail.

Particularly interesting given they called a lay day at Snapper.

Went down to the Shire yesterday as I was sick of my local. It wasn't any good despite it being a south swell.

There was actually a sweet little bank at mid tide that was relatively uncrowded. Nothing special but fun till it got too many punters on the case. Blown out today.

Margaret River forecast for today: swell 23' at 16s, 25,000 kJ

The Ulus swell last year was 17,000kJ, so around 50% more powerful
