Banks are only really liking the dead low tide at the mo, any water on them and they are too full.petulance wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2019 7:40 amIt was quite straight and closing out on quite a few yesterday. Just had to pick the right ones.black duck wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2019 9:49 pmFcuk there's no banks around here. It's dire. As the swell grew yesterday and the easterly wind lay down, there would have been some waves, but there wasn't. Every line just slamming closeouts on straight, shallow banks.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
yeah , ya reckon, where?
sth end here had an epic little peak early this morning on the particularly high tide.
almost flawless, each wave peeling off left and right, several waves in succession between momentary lulls.
and 'bra past weeks seemed best on the high tide.

i just came back and it's marginal now here compared to this morn.
looked at the 'bra cam just now, and it's rubbish compared to what it looked like this morn.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
because the wind is into it and the swell has dropped, tide was way too high for it this morning. Yesterday was significantly better around midday on the lower tide then a couple hours later. No Pants Lance wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2019 3:08 pmi just came back and it's marginal now here compared to this morn.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
It's a rare day when Bondi is any good on low tide. I was out about 4:00......had to leave work early to renew my beachpass Skips on the money.
Mmaaaaaaayyyyyyybbbbeee...Loofs scored right down in the corner......but the reality is the sets at 4:00 waves were still smashing the shallow bank and closing out. You had to pick a medium one and hope it connected. Surprising how much force some of the close outs had.
Some nice looking lefts yesterday arvo and I imagine earlier today would have been good too.

I'm enjoying the 2foot clean waves ATM too. Water's nice, beautiful mornings and good shape that you can ride any board from shorty to log.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Small but very nice conditions yesterday morning. Almost warm water and the combo of overcast and spotlessly clean little waves was glorious.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
RMS webcam down, swellnet report said it was close to flat. Was 2-3foot clean and beautiful and a lot less busy than it has been of late.
My car was close to out of fuel last night and what do ya know, it didn't start this morn.
Had to do the bicycle run for a surf.
I think the warm up from the ride made me surf a lot better.
Might keep it up while there's only one decent surf option. And by the time you ride down your going to go out regardless.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
So far it been a pretty bad March on the Bukit, and the worst in my experience and many others. Although the swell is OK, the SE trades have not established themselves at all.
I also have an RSI type injury to my shoulder/neck that's so painfull I can't sleep, ride my bike or surf. Continual pain night and day, so I'm going back to oz to get some treatment.

18 days instead of 30, still four more trips to go though. Good time to be in the SW of WA though.
But where in Margaret River can I get a quiet AC room, with bathroom, kitchen and private walled garden 500m from the surf for $18 per night.
