It’s small and junky on the Surf Coast. And the waters cold. Not fun.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
North Woonona. 2-3 foot wind affected right and left peaks breaking into and off the reef bed. Fairly short waves but still enough of a run to put in a couple of turns.
Then took the pod handplane out a bit further south between the flags with waves pitching top to bottom over a waist high sandbank.
Was fun getting catapulted out of the lip and into the flats, dodging all manner of plump holiday bogans.

Those pods are pretty fun to break things up a bit.Hatchnam wrote: ↑Wed Dec 26, 2018 2:57 pmNorth Woonona. 2-3 foot wind affected right and left peaks breaking into and off the reef bed. Fairly short waves but still enough of a run to put in a couple of turns.

Does it stress you to watch clueless people wander into serious situations?
Was watching a kid on Xmas day at Boomerang on a bodyboard with no flippers go out in a rip, beach was pretty empty and his parents were too busy talking to friends and having beers to watch him closely. Not even sure they even thought he might get into trouble. Was way out the back when a closeout set flogged him and he landed back on the sandbar and washed in after a few more. I was thinking I might have to go out and get him, just couldn’t get over the lack of attention his parents were showing.

Bought it about 20 plus years ago for $60. They’re still the same price! That super deep concave provides a tonne of lift and drive when you press down on it. With bodysurfing it feels like you need a square dredging wave to get the best out of it.channels wrote: ↑Wed Dec 26, 2018 5:51 pmThose pods are pretty fun to break things up a bit.Hatchnam wrote: ↑Wed Dec 26, 2018 2:57 pmNorth Woonona. 2-3 foot wind affected right and left peaks breaking into and off the reef bed. Nah it doesn’t, because of what you just described, most apparently clueless people get booted out by the surf pretty easilychannels wrote: ↑Wed Dec 26, 2018 5:56 pmDoes it stress you to watch clueless people wander into serious situations?

What would stress me is what those lifeguards at Coffs went through a couple of days ago, going out looking for people and finding one dead.

He's a firey in Mississauga, a satellite city to Toronto, Canada.
They spend more time as first responders to road accidents than fighting fires.
Had one the other day, a Tesla which had rolled for over 100 metres, hit a tree about 10 feet up.
Guy was dead.
They recovered his phone, still with his unfinished text on the screen.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Tesla crashes are big news so unless there's another one that the msm have covered up ...
We were discussing a number of recent accidents he's attended.
I may have got the dead bit wrong but I'm 90% sure it was only last week.
Pretty hard to keep on top of a Skype conversation when there's a couple of beautiful grandkids getting involved. Plus my daughter in law's sister, her hubby, their two kids and the other set of grandparents.

Maybe he was poisoned by the putrid water in the lake, Duck?black duck wrote: ↑Wed Dec 26, 2018 9:04 pmYesterday. Korean guy drowned near the closed over lake entrance at Green island, snorkelling apparantely.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Well putrid is a little strong Jimmy but I don’t swim in it unless it’s flowing well on the incoming tide, near the entrance. Not sure if the guy was in the lake or ocean. They opened the lake last week but it’s not working. Didn’t dig enough sand out. Its already stopped flowing and is closing up. Need a fcuk off big rain storm to clear out the artery.

Damn BD. Aj and myself are coming with fam to invade end of Jan... we need that lake flowing nicely, thanks!black duck wrote: ↑Thu Dec 27, 2018 6:50 amWell putrid is a little strong Jimmy but I don’t swim in it unless it’s flowing well on the incoming tide, near the entrance. Weird place to drown though.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Friends of ours bought down there when the lake was closed ages ago. Prices were down in real estate before they opened it up again.
